A must have for the travelling coeliac!

This app is an absolute lifesaver! I frequently travel through Europe and America and have uncovered so many hidden gems thanks to FMGF. When I arrive somewhere new it’s the first thing I check- to the extent where I now only refer to it as “The Oracle”. Being in foreign speaking countries as a coeliac can be really difficult but this makes it so much easier. I try to review every place I visit because I am so grateful to read what kind of experience other coeliacs have had, even just for peace of mind while I’m eating my meal. Cannot recommend this enough for anyone who adheres to a strict GF diet.

Valuable But Interface Needs Improving

This app is useful in locating safe gluten free venues, as reported by other users. This means it’s entirely user supported, as without the users’ reviews, the app wouldn’t show any data. However, reviews can sometimes be incoherent and difficult to understand, making it difficult for the user to decide whether to attend the restaurant or not. It would be helpful to have more ‘report’ options for reviews, rather than just ‘report as inappropriate’. I’d like to be able to report reviews for being unclear or confusing to understand. The interface is quite awkward to navigate, unless you pay $27 to remove advertisements. It’s worth mentioning too that I’m using it in Australia, NSW, and there aren’t many reviews here, but I can see that it’s more heavily used in other countries.

But I’m thankful for this app, as it seems to be the only one like it, and it has been valuable in dealing with a coeliac diagnosis. It can be really isolating, and this app has helped me realise there are still delicious restaurants and cafes I can visit.

It’s very challenging (which is why no one else is doing it) for an extremely small company to do all this stuff well and sustainably, but we’re doing our best to continue improving the platform every day. Must have for people with coeliac

This app has been essential for travelling with a person diagnosed as coeliac. It allows us to search for GF safe places to eat stress free. For the app to be even more successful, it needs a community of users to be regularly entering and reviewing places to eat. Please consider supporting the app so that it helps the coeliac community to eat safely and stress free.
