Description
GCBuddy is the perfect tool for the serious geocacher when solving multi-caches. With this application you can record all found values for A...Z and use them to automatically calculate new waypoint coordinates. The final cache coordinates are also calculated as soon as all required puzzles have been solved and entered. You can also record the exact spot where you parked your car or bike, so you can find it back after caching.

Whilst I do subscribe to the thoughts of MZ64, I have found it useful to pre-programe the Multi caches I intend to do before I head out for a days caching. Thus i have good idea as to what is ahead.
As a non mathematical person and have trouble sorting out formulas, so what does puzzle me at the moment, and I'm sure there is an answer, is how do you handle a set of numbers created in the middle of a multi. Say a formula gives you a number consisting of two or more characters which then become individual numbers e.g. E = A +B+C = 456 where 4 = X, 5 = Y and 6 = Z.
Somtimes lo tech is better
I look at my purchase of this app philosophically. Sometimes we spend our hard earned unwisely and regret it. Perhaps a lottery ticket that doesn't win, maybe going to see a rubbish film or buying a meal that makes you feel queasy. Some apps are like that, they seem a good idea at the time, for whatever reason, but you regret by it and only realise your folly once you have used it This App is one of those. It offers nothing that you can't do with a pen and a piece of paper and your GPSr, which if you are a geocacher you will already have. In fact the data entry with this app is so laborious you will be able to solve your clues and find your coords in fraction of the time manually. So in all I will not be giving up my pencil and paper any time soon and will look back at the purchase of this app with resignation and move on, preferably to coordinates that I worked out my self.
Multis just became fun again!
I often wondered why I needed a pen and paper to multis when I had a smart machine in my hands to find the coordinates! GCBuddy came to the rescue. The interface was quite intuitive and improves each release.
I'm currently using GCBuddy for a string of multis and puzzles. One puzzle, a word find, left me with a bunch of letters to convert then add up. Sure there's other tools for that, but having GCBuddy load the cache, then manually enter the 16 alphas left in the puzzle into a clue spot, cut-n-pate the final coordinates, and I was done. Excellent job!
