Ratings and Reviews
Wow!
Great! My HP-25 died a few years ago and no-one repairs them any more. It was always at my side for a quick calculation and these days I’m forced to use an ‘equals’ key that still catches me out. Once you learn RPN you tend to think like that and I really miss my ENTER key. I learned a lot about programming and clear thinking by writing a few programs on the HP-25 and it was my first computer.
Thank you for this recreation of my favorite gadget. I haven’t had so much fun since first opening the box that held my HP-25 in the 70s. And the stacks and programs are visible, which is even better. The best couple of bucks I ever spent!
My favourite calculator.
I have this on my iPhone. I purchased a HP-25 in 1978 and used it through the final year of school, through university and into my teaching career. I only stopped using it when the battery pack died then I discovered this app. Bliss! Once you learn RPN you can never go back. I love this app - it is identical to the real thing.
My only bugbear is "How do I turn off the Stack/registry screen?" I just seem to randomly tap the screen for minutes until it randomly turns off. There must be an easier way. Help.
Developer Response ,
The classic method is a double tap gesture in the calculator’s display area. Now you have the option for a concrete button to open and close the stack display: touch the blue Info button, touch Settings, touch Accessibility, then select “Auxiliary Views Assist”.
