Description

Plus42 is an advanced scientific programmable calculator, based on Free42. Free42, in turn, is a complete re-implementation of the HP-42S scientific programmable RPN calculator, which was made from 1988 until 1995 by Hewlett-Packard. Free42 is a complete rewrite and contains no HP code whatsoever.

Plus42 builds on Free42 and adds: Algebraic expressions modeled after those used on the HP-27S and HP-17B/19B; attached units and unit conversions modeled after those used on the HP-48/49/50 series; directories for more organized storage of programs and variables; a larger display, with 8 rows and 22 columns (131x64 pixels) by default, which the user may resize at will; time value of money and amortization schedules; and two-dimensional plotting of functions, with ability to zoom and pan, and find integrals and roots from points in the plot.

Better than the original HP42S

I purchased this HP42 emulator today. I am a long-time fan of HP calculators and a keep collector of both HP and SwissMicro products. This is the same form factor, but an improved version of the SwissMicro 42S calculator, which is also based on the free version of this emulator. Love the SwissMicro calc, and love this iOS calc. Well done Thomas Okken. Great work. This one is a keeper, and well worth the money. Five stars!

Impressive!

This is an amazing improvement on my favourite calculator. I have only one quibble. It takes 5 taps to import a program after uploading. For my vast array of programs this gets annoying very quickly. Please consider the ability to select multiple programs at once to import.

EDIT: thanks for the multi-export tip Thomas. Worked perfectly!

Developer Response ,

I'll see about multi-select on import; I agree that would be a logical and useful thing to support.
Until then, you may be able to use a feature Free42 and Plus42 do have: you can *export* multiple programs at once, creating a combined raw file, so you then need to do the import procedure only once.

Used the original HP-42S when at university. Was great .But the newer Plus42 is even better again.Very happen with this purchase. Thomas Okken knows everything about Hp [in my opinion] and proves it ,with both , his original version of the HP-45 and the latest Plus42 - the latter is even better!
