For $5 it’s great, however you only get what you pay for. The navigational tabs are minimal at best and you have to look all over for them. All the covers are pixelated as if they were screenshots that you can not really make out and even the video quality is something to be questioned. They state it goes up to 1080p but you can only change that on pc, no in video quality changes. In the topic of quality, the videos have clear noise and visible pixels that you would normally see on videos that have been screen recorded. Their selection is alright with fan favourites all round but their sale line is their exclusive series which is really the only worth wild part of this app. You also can’t add any series to your “schedule” aka your watch list until you pay for premium meaning you have to either write down or remember all the series you want to watch. I’d only suggest getting this app and paying for the premium if you want to watch their exclusive series but I’d just suggest you watch them on kissanime with an ad blocker coz you’re gonna get the same quality with a much easier layout.

To get the obvious out of the way, the UI is nothing special, I’d go as far as to say even a little clunky, but the major problem a lot of the reviews mention—a lack of a 30sec rewind and fast-forward button—has been fixed, at least when using Chromecast.

But anyways, the bottom line here is the exclusives and such, because the actual service is shockingly cheap at about $5 a month, and honestly? If you’re a fan of Lupin III or sci-fi/mecha classics you can’t find elsewhere (Armored Trooper Votoms, Orguss, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, etc.), it’s definitely at least worth getting past the free-trial.

Okay so the HiDive app has never been a great app let’s be honest but if you wanted to stream some shows since they took their rights back or some more niche shows and not resort to the the torrent sites then you paid your money to HiDive and you dealt with what they called their so called app. But somehow this app seems to be getting worse, pause now just means sound goes off while it keeps playingin the background, finding the second season of some shows is hit and miss but it will find it if you play the last episode of season one, rembering what episode you were up too and where you where up to in the episode well let’s not even go there…so really the shows they offer can be worth it…the level of frustration you can face for your subscription though…oh and if you expect your shows to play with English subs because that is what you have set it up to play with…nope even though it’s default as the setting for some reason it will go to Spanish unless they have only done the English sub release at that time… so for show wise I love the app for use wise I hate it…
