Conveyancing done right

Home-In makes the process of buying (namely conveyancing) super easy. I’ve had a contract negotiation done in the palm of my hand and the legal team I was paired with explained things super easy - I just clicked yes or no to things they found in the contract.

I actually enjoyed opening up this app to see how the contract negotiation was going on. I never thought I’d say that having gone through the ‘old school’ way in the last.

Also, the six hour turnaround time on contract reviews gave me confidence to wait until late in a home buying process to reach out, saving time and money.

Wouldn’t use it again

Bottom line, my home-in experience was fine, but I wouldn’t use it again.

Pros:
* Mostly very easy
* Never had to speak to anyone
* No issues arose during settlement
* Cheap (heavily discounted because I was using CBA for my loan, and they own the app)
* Checklists!

Cons:
* Only two complimentary contract reviews, and they force you to agree to use them for settlement before they’ll provide those (and if you don’t eventually settle through them, they’ll retroactively charge for those contract reviews)
* Very impersonal
* Little/poor actual communication during the process
* Document download/upload process was a little difficult, and I had to transfer things to a PC at one point so I could fill it out
* Feels a bit weird writing the home-in details into documents at the real estate agent

This was my second experience purchasing property and although the whole process went fine, I had a much better/easier experience the first time around (ie without home-in), and felt more valued as a client. Without the discount it also would have been more expensive than what I paid last time, and I got less for it. I wouldn’t recommend this app to anyone, but I would tell them about it, especially if they were interested in a good deal (due to the huge discount when also getting a CBA loan).

Over promised and under delivered

The app promises a lot, making the home buying experience easy and overall providing support throughout the whole process. In reality, it’s far from that.
• The app itself is clunky, often getting stuck on screens, needing to be forced closed and reopened. It is clearly lacking development and not up to the standard you would think.
• Communicating with the parties you need to us extremely frustrating. The only way to contact anyone is to send a generic message to your “buying assistant” through the app and waiting for a reply. You have no direct link to your conveyancer, and no phone number to call and speak to a human.
• The process through the app actually felt more clunky and more onerous than simply going through these steps myself. For someone who has never purchased before, I can see the appeal, however for most, the app actually complicated and slows down the process.

Brilliant Application

This app and the teams supporting it are outstanding. The whole conveyancing process was simple, the team answered all questions promptly , they kept me informed at all times and everything relating to costs for the service was presented in a simple and easy format which made it easy to understand. Having the linkage with the bank also made things very simple. If you are looking for conveyancing service I would recommend using this application and the services it supplies.

Makes buying a home simple

This app makes buying a new home a breeze. It takes the process and breaks in down into stages and steps for you to complete. If you get stuck there are helpful knowledge articles or you can just message your buying assistant via the app to get any questions (no matter how small) answered. Have already been recommending to other first home buyers.

Seamless. Simple. Supported. Straight forward. Settlement. Stress-free.

Super easy to use and took the anxiety and effort away from what is traditionally, a complex and challenging process where you need many parties and lots of steps and manual documents. Helped to make our home buying, dare I say it - fun!

Helping me buy my first home

I’m looking to buy my first home and the process is very foreign. The legalese in home purchase contracts is most foreign of all.

I’m finding the Home-in app useful to understand what to do when. The conveyancer who I spoke with was great. Very down to earth and helped me push back on bluster from the real estate agent.

I still missed out on the first property I bid on. The app helped me with what to do, but I wasn’t confident so I was slow in making an offer and counter-offer. I’ll be much quicker next time. Practice makes perfect. Nice that the price includes two tries, and then subsequent property advice is not expensive.

I’ll keep using this app.

The best app for home buying.

This app was unbelievable. It walked me through my home buying experience. You can message your conveyancer in the app which is so handy. It has tips and guidance documents to help you through the process.

Frustrating and slow

As a user of the Home-In app and desktop version, I have to say that my experience was quite disappointing. Firstly, the app interface was not user-friendly and the navigation was difficult.

This made the process frustrating and time-consuming.

In addition, the customer service was subpar. When I had issues with the app or questions about the properties, I found it difficult to get in touch with a representative. The response time was slow, and different representatives dealing with the buying process. It's very different from having a proper conveyancer to contact.

Overall, I would not recommend Home-In to anyone looking to buy/ sell a property. The poor user interface and lacklustre customer service all make for a frustrating experience.
