Instant Ink suggestion
I just bought a printer for the first time and chose a hp deskjet 2722e, and so far I love it. I was so excited by the Instant Ink subscription service offer I signed up right away! I hadn't heard of slmething likr this before. However, as an online university student living independently and watching my budget, I don't have a lot of free time for shopping inbewteen studying and going to work. I so deeply wish Instant Ink included paper as well as ink cartridges, especially as you are required to buy paper seperatley from the purchese of the hp printer, something a first time printer purcherser might forget! Thank you.
Least intuitive interface
On setting up my new Smart Tank 7305 printer I encountered numerous conflicting/contradictory messages in the setup process using HP Smart for Desktop on my M1 MacMini.
HP needs to make its messages and instructions a lot clearer eg it is of little use to be given a message to 'try again' only to be taken to the same step that didn't progress to the next setup stage in the first place - with no alternative provided.
To be told to move the printer closer to the computer because of a weak Bluetooth signal is a pure nonsense when thay are 12" apart and no other bluetooth device is in the same room.
The scan function on the HP Smart App simply refuses to work, telling me the document is not placed correctly on the platen. I gave up and reinstalled an older version of HP Easy Scan which actually works. I gave this App a single star, disappointed that I couldn't give it less. Just a terrible name to give an App. Smart it is not!
App can't find my printer
The software can't find my printer. So I can't set the printer up for my devices, despite extensive googling and troubleshooting - there seems to be no recourse for this.
It's a second-hand printer with no paper instruction manual, but still a recent model. All the lights are on, device bluetooth is on - but nothing.
I only bought this printer because I moved countries with my original HP printer, which also no longer works... because they are all set to specific regions - as I only discovered when I finally got to speak to a real human at my local HP office. I have an expensive printer I can no longer use, full of ink that no longer works... and now I have a back-up printer that won't work either.
I just wish there was an HP version of roadside assitance that could come over and get at least one printer working!
