Best eBook reader

The best eBook reader for iPhone I've seen so far and I've seen a lot. The software is full of excellent features.

Good app, poor support

My favourite eBook app appears to be dead as of iOS 5 (it starts with 'S'). Bought i2reader as a replacement on the strength of many forum posts. Very disappointed with app's website (lots of dead links, little i2reader content). I almost gave up on it.

If the developer is smart they will realise the potential market share they're about to gain from that other app's death and make an effort to fix up their website.

The app itself does seem to be a better replacement for my previous app or the iOS default app. Mainly performance and better UI. Some users also cite the dictionary integration but I don't use that. My preferred mode of grabbing new books is to not be sitting at a computer. I finally figured out how to get i2reader to browse my Calibre library - find out your Calibre-hosting computer's IP, then in i2reader on your iDevice, go to Network->OPDS Libraries. Click the '+' at top right, and type in http://<IP address>:8080/opds
Call me dumb but it took me ages to figure that out. Also, try not to be dyslexic like me and type 'odps' all the time (it's opds), or forget the ':8080'. The host name is unimportant, just put something unique in there like 'my calibre'.

For my usage - to make this a 5-star app - it would require a decent website, automatic discovery of my Calibre library (my former app could do it, so it must be possible), and maybe things like brightness adjustment via up/down screen swipe.

Hopeless?

Judging by the reviews across the net, this is a great app IF you can get it to work. That's an awfully big if though. I have worked out a few things which weren't all that obvious, but it still feels buggy and I'm struggling to download stuff from my Calibre library. I also downloaded i2Librarian, but couldn't work out how to 'activate the speaker'. I gather this is a Russian development, which may be why Russian speakers don't answer English emails. Pity.
