Mountain Duck lets you mount server and cloud storage as a disk on your desktop. With Smart Synchronization, files are synchronized to the local disk when opened to allow offline usage and changes are uploaded in the background as soon as a connection is available. Open remote files with any application and work like on a local volume. Transfer files using Finder to remote servers, fast. Select files and folders to always keep offline on your computer. Other files are downloaded and cached on demand only and otherwise do not take space on your local disk. Encryption for data at rest using Cryptomator interoperable vaults prevent unauthorized access regardless of the server or cloud storage infrastructure.
Based on the solid open source foundation of Cyberduck, all major protocols are supported to connect to just about any server you want. Including FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, Azure Cloud Storage, Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Google Drive, Dropbox, Backblaze B2 & OpenStack Swift.

Kind of sucks that after purchasing the app outright previously that it has now gone subscription only………..
Developer Response
You are eligible to run version 5 with no limitations for up to one year after your purchase date before you are required to purchase a monthly or yearly subscription. We have been unable to charge for major updates in the Mac App Store in contrast to licenses purchased from our website. We published regular free upgrades for the last 10 (!) years in the Mac App Store, but you will understand this is not sustainable for our business when maintaining and adding new features to the software. You are welcome to request a free license from our support to run Mountain Duck 4 available from our website if you don't want to upgrade at this time.
Uses a lot of resources & encryption doesn't seem to work all the time
PandemicChris
It uses a LOT of resources and i've noticed a few files are uploaded unencrypted when they should be.The resource drain is so bad i'll find something else.
Doesn't really work that well

The interface is clunky (constantly opening new dialogs to set up accounts, there's not screen to do all this at once for multiple accounts like other apps). I find it very hard to get accounts to be established - even on mature services like Backblaze and Google cloud. You end up entering keys multiple times and doubting yourself as innevitably it doesn't work... but the same settings do on other clients. Very frustrating experience! I'd like this to work, because it has promise.
