Seems like I was scammed

I don’t usually write reviews but this made me so angry. I’ve used the app for a number of years and really enjoyed it. But 6 hours ago I received an email asking me if I knew a random person. I questioned the strange and random request and explained it raised red flags on my end. They then closed my account and said until I answered the strange question, my account would remain suspended. The explanation was they needed me to answer the strange question as regulations needed me to provide the information. No dialogue, no communication just closed my account.
