It includes various options for which users can approach their study. You can select your JLPT level and read multiple free articles a day with practice questions. You can save some difficult words. Even the notifications are just words which also help. Am grateful for the support this app has given me

Excellent idea of an app, but with some technical glitches
Dwayne E M
The main issue I have with the app is that it consistently has issues with opening articles from a notification. Meaning, if I try to open an article from a notification from the notification centre of my iPad, the article often fails to load. When I try to look for the same article on the app’s homepage, I often cannot find it. Another issue with the app is that some articles’ source text is sometimes doubled up. I find that what seems to be a long article is only so because the text from the original source has been copied into the app twice. One last thing is it would be nice to return the ability to go straight to the source material by clicking on the source at the bottom right corner of the article. All in all, I’m quite happy with the app and would seriously recommend it to anyone seriously learning Japanese. I’d give it 5 stars were it not for the issues identified above. Hopefully these are looked into and fixed by the developer soon.

Useful but frustratingly buggy

The app has a persistent problem with launching from a notification - the app launches but fails to show the story, and it can’t be found. The app also has some UI problems when this happens. I have to force quit the app to recover, which works but finding the story I was notified about is virtually impossible. Developer has been notified but despite frequent bug fix updates, the problem remains insolvable. Otherwise the app is good though I wish the dictionary was faster to launch within the app when a word is tapped. Looking forward to eventual fixes.

I’ve been using this app for 2, 3 years now. It’s a good addition aside from my regular Japanese learning. It is a versatile and useful app all in one place. I recommend it to many of my Japanese classmates. I particularly love that I can choose the news articles based on the JLPT levels. The media section also fun to learn and sing Japanese songs like karaoke.
