Nintendo Switch Parental Controls™ is a free app that allows you to easily monitor your child's use of the Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console. (Please note: A Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console is required to use this app.) ◆ Set a daily play time limit You can set how long you'd like your child to be able to play for each day. It's possible to choose different settings for each day of the week, and you can also set it so that the game on the console is suspended as soon as the play time limit is reached. ◆ Manage your child's GameChat settings If you choose to allow your child to use GameChat, you can manage which friends they can chat with and decide whether they can use video chat. Note: The GameChat feature can only be used on Nintendo Switch 2 consoles. ◆ View your child's play activity You can easily check which games your child plays and for how long. You'll also receive a monthly overview of their gameplay activity. ◆ Set restrictions based on your child's age You can choose to restrict the games your child can play and the features they can use based on their age. Attention: ● In order to use the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app, a parent or guardian (aged 18 or above) needs to have a Nintendo Account. ● You can set purchasing restrictions, including restrictions on purchasing products and services in Nintendo eShop, in the Nintendo Account settings. ● In order to make use of all of the features and settings available in the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app, all linked Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch consoles need to be using the latest system version. ● Please see support.nintendo.com for details about the GameChat feature.

Great app to control device playing time

Great app - works really well. Couple of thoughts for improvement:1. Please consider having a time that play cannot commence before. Eg, if you only want the child to play after school (and not before school), then you could set a commencement time of say 3.30pm.2. The intervals for play time limit seem quite inflexible. Perhaps 15 minutes is not enough, but half an hour (double!) is too much. It would be nice to have smaller increments, say every 5 minutes, for play time limits less than an hour. 3. If you want to give your child more time, instead of choosing to disable alarms for the day or change the play time limit, can you add an option that gives the option to increase play time only for that day, in say 5 minute increments? That way there is still a restriction and it is valid only as a one off for that day. This would be quite helpful. If desirable to keep the user interface simple, these options could be enabled by a check box (eg, 1. show smaller time increments, 2. Allow device to only be used after a set time), 3. Extend play limit for today.These would be quite straightforward changes. Thanks for considering these ideas.

Easy to use

This app makes it so easy to mange my child’s devices. Would like to see functionality added that allows a zero minutes play (so when children have lost privileges the device cannot be used - currently the minimum time you can set is 15mins. Would also like to see ability to ‘blacklist’ apps - so, opposite of white lists. There are some apps I don’t wish my children to be using but they still fit within the age bracket. Thanks for a really great app tho - the flexibility, functionality and interface are super easy to use.

Overall a great App, I love that I can have the Gaming stoped by a certain time, setting times is easy, would be great to have a play no earlier than... option, we have a 9 yr old that will wake early to play when he should b still sleeping. My only gripe is it’s confusing to set up profiles for each child especially when they both have switch lites and a joint switch console, ( 3 consoles) my son plays games my daughter also wants to play but she can’t if my son has downloaded it on his Nintendo shop profile, the only way I can see them being able to play each other’s games is if u buy the physical game at the shops. I found it so confusing both my kids somehow ended up with 2 profiles.

Only good for three switches

I had been happily using this app to sound an alarm when screen time was about to come to an end, but my toddler didn’t understand that some times you aren’t allowed to play on the switch so I used the app with 0 minutes and let my other kids know the passcode (not ideal but the only way I could figure out how to ‘lock’ the switch). He’s now three and has his own switch lite (cheaper than an iPad) but I can’t add it to this app as it only supports three devices. It seems like an easy thing to change for those of us with four or more kids!Overall this app does a few things well and but there are plenty of places for improvement.

・ The app now supports dark mode. The app will automatically change to dark mode based on your smart device's settings. ・ "1hr" can now be selected under "Extend the Play Time Limit for the Day". ・ It's now possible to set individual play start times for each day of the week under "Detailed Bedtime Settings". ・ It's now possible to change the display order in the list of supervised consoles. ・ Other small improvements have also been made.
