Had a great time completing The Oz Escape. Puzzles were fun & challenging without being too hard & the walk was mostly flat (thank god!! 😂). The original date I had booked for was forecast to be raining heavily so they added a new date that we could choose between to ensure our health & safety. You play at your own pace, the game is timed & you will be rated against others by how long it took you, but it makes no overall difference whether you raced through or took your time to enjoy the game & take in your surroundings. Will definitely look forward to more events in the future

Not realising I had booked The Oz Escape in Bathurst, I wasn’t disappointed. It was a great excuse to get out of Sydney for a couple of days and we decided to make a weekend of it. Completing the escape was fun and loved exploring Bathurst at the same time. It wouldn’t have been an even better experience if the characters for each part or hint spoke their lines instead of having to read it myself; although having to read it myself didn’t detract from the game experience. It would also be cool if the game creators could utilise some sort of AI overlay that turned your location around you into the Emerald City somehow or changed the pavement into the yellow brick road when you held up your phone and scanned the scenery around you. I can’t wait to do some of the Sydney locations now. Keep on creating developers.

I didn’t know much about Questo until a patient of mine told me about it. Finally, there was a new one in Manly (my area) ready to try. I was amazed that despite growing up and living in the area my whole life, I had no idea about certain areas or monuments around me, along with their historical significance. My wife and I loved it, and will do some more in the future.

Have done similar things in the past, but this was our first Questo experience. Overall loads of fun and the puzzles were great! The song elements and trivia would have been great for solo adventurers, but we felt they detracted from the story, which was very clever. Also I would have liked a bit more of a reason to have to go to each location - the puzzles that interacted with real world features were the best!
