## Now Available for Mac! ##
App of the Day, TIME Magazine's Best Apps of 2018!
MacStories "Best App Updates of 2018" selection!
Drafts lets you turn text into action – it’s a quick notebook, handy editor, and writing automation tool, all in one. Instead of tapping around other apps, capture in Drafts first. Open it and write right away, then do something useful with your words.
## HOW DRAFTS WORKS ##
Drafts opens to a new page with the keyboard ready so you can type immediately. Go hands-free with Dictation, or ask Siri to "Create a note using Drafts".
Drafts lets you get things down before you forget – no choosing document templates or waiting for your file to download.
USE YOUR WORDS:
Drafts is a launching-off point for text – use the actions to copy it, share it, or deep link into other apps and services. Compose a tweet or message, create a file in Dropbox, send a task off to Reminders – there are hooks into tons of your favorite apps.
REMEMBER IT NOW – OR LATER:
New entries go into the Inbox. Once there, you can Tag them for organization, Flag them for importance, or Archive them for long-term storage.
TAKE TEXT TO A NEW LEVEL:
Set up a text editing experience that’s perfect for you, with tons of interface adjustments like custom fonts and control over spacing, line height, and margins.
Use the customizable extended row above the keyboard to quickly convert, manipulate, and transform your writing. Make lists, use Markdown to get things just right.
Process your drafts quickly using unique features like Link Mode, Arrange Mode, and Focus Mode.
## WHY YOU’LL LOVE DRAFTS ##
IT WILL CHANGE HOW YOU USE YOUR DEVICES:
Drafts gives you a new approach to using your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, letting you write first and think about what to do with it later. Try it in your dock for a week, you'll find you can't live without it.
GETTING WORDS DOWN HAS NEVER BEEN EASIER:
Drafts opens lightning fast and with support for capture via Siri, the widget, share extension, file import, and dictation - Drafts is like post-its updated for the smartphone era.
Actions make Drafts a Swiss Army knife for text. Integrate with a bewildering array of apps and services.

Ratings and Reviews
My most used app (by times per day)
I use Drafts as the original entry point for most everything I do. With its myriad number of actions there is little it can't do to help me keep track of daily events. This is my goto app to make notes, draft emails (no more oops!, "shouldn't have sent that", make date/time stamped notes (with textExpander), record my spending on the fly and so many other numerous things I don't remember. Oh yes, and to 'draft' this review.
A previous review criticised the move to a subscription model in a somewhat negative manner. While I empathise with the pain of numerous subscriptions adding up to exorbitant amounts each month it does cause you to use / pay for only those who return value for money. Drafts is one such app, the payment is easily justifiable in my opinion if it keeps the developer supporting the self and therefore the app going forward.
A definite 5 star app in my book.
Great, but too expensive Ditto
I’m word for word in agreement with the earlier review under this heading. This is a truly great app, but now too expensive for occasional use. A great pity. I’ll go back to v4 while it’s still supported and then decide which of the alternatives will get the job done. Hope you can find a solution for Corporate users to fund development and cut the cost for indie users.
Another app to jump on the subscription train...
I have been buying different versions of this app for years, and I'm fine with that. I think I have bought three of the four different versions, all for between $8-$10. Now the new one comes out and costs as much as buying three of the previous apps PER YEAR. $28 a year may not be much in the scheme of things, but when every app under the sun is doing this, you'll be spending a lot of money very quickly.
Let's say you want a good to do list, that would be another $30 a year. How about Argus for tracking activity. $22 a month or $47 a year. Say, I would love to have a nice journal, that will set you back a similar amount per year. Maybe a budgeting app for another $40 a year. Currently, in this situation I would be spending close to $200 a year for just four apps. Where their previous versions would cost you $30-$50 for all four.
There's no real need for these incessant subscription services, other than the hope that people will forget/not realise they have subscribed and the company will make some money out of them each year until they remember.
I'll be going back to a writing app that doesn't extort money out of you.
