How to participate in an event with Magic Companion:
1. Attend an event at participating local stores. Find one at locator.wizards.com
2. Open Magic Companion and select JOIN EVENT
3. Enter the Event Code provided by your local store.
4. Find your first matchup and get playing!

Life tracker is great, easy to use one you work it out. could use a larger font on iPad though.

Companion is a really good app which is easy to use, as well as containing a lot of helpful tools when it comes to Magic The Gathering. My only complaint with this app is that it won’t allow you to see the other side of a double sided card nor will it show the abilities of the other side of the card.

This is a really good up for magic the gathering but the only thing that it is missing is something to log in decks. Some other apps do this but do not have all the cards on it so you can’t log some cards to your deck and since this has a card database it would be really good.
Why can’t you save tournament history?

Zero ability to save/track event history. Can’t even save it locally. And if the event organiser ends before you take a screenshot, then it’s GONE. You’d think this would be basic functionality.The old DCI system used to give you an ELO rating which was great! Now that’s completely gone from organised tournament play.I only use this because it’s required for tournament play.
Events in Locator now display a saved count, showing you exactly how many players have saved and are interested in that particular event! Open the options menu for any event and utilize the new "Share" button to let your friends know about any upcoming events that you plan on attending.
