Have been using both iMAC and app on phone for a number of years and like the ease of recording and syncing between computer and phone. BUT with recent update I cannot have two files open on iMAC. In the past I was able to have both personal and business open at the same time. So frustrating having to close one down to open the other when doing book work. Hopefully next update enables functionality to have two open at the same time
A Great Finance Management Program for Mac

I have been using a Finance mgmt program for years. During that time I have tried numerous programs; ie, Quicken and others; however, they have all failed due to a lack of features, ceased operating here in Australia, or they were too difficult to use. I wish I had found 'Bankitivity' all those years ago. It has the functionality I require, a little bit of a learning process, but all in all it is user friendly. Now I know some people may have problems with the subscription model; however, if that's what it takes to keep Bankitivity alive and with regular updates then I'm more than happy to pay for this particular subscription. I can also say, whenever I've been unsure on an issure there support has been both responsive and accurate. A great piece of finance management software for Mac and I'm more than happy with it! Try it, you won't be disappointed!

I’ve been using Banktivity for a decade now. Before then, I used Microsoft Money (yes, a long time ago…), then Quicken, then Moneydance. For my purposes (expense tracking, budgeting, and reports), it ticks all my boxes. I’ve recently been tracking my investments (after setting up a self managed superannuation fund) and it does this well.I’ve had the occasional need to contact support, and they have always been responsive and helpful. I’ve not had any significant trouble with connecting to financial institutions in Australia, or with syncing. The help pages on their website can usually answer my queries easily.

There are some negative reviews but I love the app and use it across iPhone, iPad and desktop. No issues syncing. And yes sometimes the direct connection with the banks will fail, but they fail on all money management apps. It’s the provider, not Banktivity, and it always comes back within a day or so. I hope to see more new features in the future - I would like to be able to customise the charting options to visualise my money in different ways.
