Just after setting up I realised exactly how perfect this app is for how my brain works. I’ve tried many savings apps and always struggled with complex categorising and working with mentally stretching expenses out. This works daily and carries over unspent money to the next day. But best of all, if you have an expense that’s not really a perfect recurring expense (like a haircut). I can spread the expense out over a few weeks to a month because I know it’s going to be about that long. But it’s great because it doesn’t just take $40 out of my day. I know I’m realistically spending that over a few weeks so it takes a dollar or so out of each day. PERFECT!Great app guys, I’m probably not explaining it very well, but this is so perfect for how my brain works. Keep doing what you’re doing ❤️

Thank you for this wonderful review! So happy to hear that our app is helpful to you. "Spread it out" is is one feature we absolutely love in our app. It lets you take a small loan from your future budget, because life happens. Apart from expenses like haircut, unexpected expenses pop up, a car repair, a medical bill, the vet. Without this “spread-out” option, you could end up deep in the red for days, making the app useless. This feature lets you balance out big expenses! Messages like these keep us motivated to work on the app everyday😊 We will keep working on the app so we can delight users like you🚀 Greetings from Berlin to Australia 🇦🇺 Juno
Thank you

Hey Developers! I just wanted to give a big shoutout for creating such an awesome app. Over the years, I've tried a bunch of different apps to help manage my spending and ensure I have enough for my expenses, but this one really hits the mark! I loved the original daily budget app, and I’m really enjoying today’s budget as well. It's so easy to use, and it lets me spend without worries. Please keep up the great support for this app—it means a lot to me, and I’m sure it helps a ton of others too!

Good, but still needs work

I used to use daily budget to keep track of my spending and I found it very useful. I stopped using it for a while, and recently decided to start again. In the process I was made aware of this new app, so I downloaded it and paid the fee to unlock everything, more than happy to support the developer. But I’m finding it much worse than the original, some small things have been changed that just make the things I want to do more difficult than they should be. Tapping on a day in the 3 day preview no longer shows the transactions from that day quickly and easily, and there are basically no settings in the settings menu anymore. The only way to edit the categories is via the new transaction button which is not at all obvious and kinda dumb. Similarly, there’s no easy or sensible way to manage recurring expenses, which used to be possible through a settings menu. Now to add a recurring expense, you add an expense and choose recurring, which also isn’t immediately obvious, especially considering there is a nice interface to set them up initially when you start with the app. To remove a recurring expense you have to go into the log of expenses and delete it… oh except deleting it will retrospectively delete that expense from the entire history, essentially corrupting your database and making all the numbers wrong. So the correct way is to edit an expense and change it’s end date I guess? That’s just really not obvious, and certainly doesn’t seem to be explained anywhere. What about if my mortgage repayment changes? I still want the expense there, I just want the amount to change on a specific day. I guess to do that I make the existing expense end, and then add a new expense that’s the same with the new amount starting on the following day? Why isn’t there an option to just change the amount of a recurring expense on a day? I REALLY want this app to be good because I want to use it and have it provide the insight into my spending and saving that is it’s whole purpose, but right now it’s not user friendly enough and from what I can see it’s even not even as good as the app it’s supposed to be an update from, which is quite disappointing.
Best for Budgeting

For anyone who is bad with budgeting, or even if you’re good at it and want to make it easier, this app is the best one I’ve found. We all get paid weekly, fortnightly, monthly, but this takes it and breaks it right down to the day, telling us if we’re in front or behind. There’s so many great features in this app and it’s so easy to use, though there’s a couple of features I wish it had (only reason it has 4 instead of 5 stars) like a way to “pre-budget” for the categories, but there’s workarounds. If you struggle with money, or even if you don’t and you want to be able to see more easily where things are at (as long as you remember to keep it up to date), then I can’t recommend this app enough.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! 😊 The app isn’t designed to support categorical budgeting, because we believe it adds unnecessary complexity. Our goal is to make budgeting as simple as possible — it’s easier to think, “I have $X for today”, rather than having to plan separately for multiple categories. That said, we’re glad you found a workaround (I’m guessing multiple wallets? 😉) We’re rooting for you on your budgeting journey and will keep working to make the app even better 🚀 Greetings from Berlin to Australia 🇦🇺 Juno
Hi everyone! We hope you are enjoying the new piggy widgets! This version includes some small bug fixes.
