Miellen liegt am linken Ufer der Lahn südwestlich von Bad Ems. Erstmalig erwähnt im Jahre 1290 aus dem Begriff "Mühle". Im Schweizertal waren mehrere Mühlen ansässig. Im Jahr 1823 wurde das Dorf zur selbständigen Gemeinde. Ein beschaulicher Ort mit 350 Einwohnern.
