This really is the best solitaire app you’ll find anywhere. The only suggestion I could make for an improvement is based on the reason I love the app so much (more on that later). My suggestion is that each ‘how to play’ section is updated with the different names used for this game in other languages; as well as both their literal translation and explanation of any associated idioms. It would help those of us who learned the game under a name in a different language to find the app; and the developer might also want to consider translation or a other language versions chosen as a result of seeing where these games are more common, but language is a hurdle to opening a new market (it may be surprising to talk to a linguist about this - the routes of learning and adaptation might be really surprising). It’s also just interesting to see how different cultures relate to the same game. I love that this app has so many games I had never played before, as well as many variations on games I already knew. If you haven’t worked it out already, then the thing I loved most about this app was finding it had a game I spent many hours playing as a child. The entire pack dealt out in a tree-like arrangement, and the aim is to pile each suit, aces up, on a column down the centre. It took a number of fails to find an app with this game. It’s a really complicated game which requires a lot of careful analysis and strategising before making each move; so it’s a great game to play with tweens and teens if you want them to increase those skills. Kids generally roll their eyes at a pack of cards these days; but teach them to play this on an app; and keep a few packs of cards in your emergency bag; and you’ll get through a power outage like a pro. I think it might be time to see if the developer has a bridge app. More of a challenge to build, but a more social version of solitaire for sure; and I doubt there is already a bridge playing app out there of this standard unless the same developer built it.
Lots of games

This neat package has lots of solitaire games to keep you interested - some (but not all) even have built-in tutorials to show you how to play. Originally I chose this app because the cards look better than others. Some of the games are becoming personal favourites, some not - but that’s OK because there are plenty to choose from & that is one of the strengths of Solitaire City: choice. The UI isn’t perfect - it’s functional. Top of my wish list would be “auto tap to play”. Why does SC force me to manually drag cards when auto tap could do it for me? In particular I find Klondike unplayable without auto tap. Yet it’s less of an issue for me with other games like Pyramid, Golf or Accordion. I support indie developers so they can continue to support me. I also appreciate a developer who doesn’t collect or share my personal data with others - check the privacy policy :-) Hours, days, weeks, months of fun !
Excellent implementation

Update: The app continues to improve with new games and subtle changes to UI elements such as the target size for buttons. First class. This is an excellent implementation of a wide range of classic card games. It is fast, responsive and fun. Unlike many competitors, the developer continues to update the app regularly. My only small wish is that there was a quick way to change the sound effects on all games together. In some, the defaults are a bit too lurid for my tastes but changing them on a game by game basis is tedious if once off exercise.
Simply the best!

There are stacks of solitaire games out there offering dozens or even hundreds of games or variations but most are of little interest to me. I prefer this beauty which has a subset with only the best of the best games. Combine that with great sounds and visuals as well as the "just gotta have one more go" feeling and you have a real winner. I ought to know as I bought this game back in the Windows 95 era, then the Pocket PC version, the Apple Mac version and (finally) the iOS version.Do yourself a favour and buy this... You won't regret it.
This version of Solitaire City fixes a few bugs:
1) Sometimes during a game, when the status bar was turned on, the cards would be positioned too high up the screen and be obscured by the button bar at the top.
2) If you ended a game with time left on the Show Move button then the number would still be visible when you started the next game.
3) On iOS 26, tapping on an App on the More Games screen didn't open the App Store. Same problem when tapping Rate on App Store, Tell a Friend or Buy Ad Free version.
Solitaire City 7.31 added the following new features:
1) The Show Move button now displays the number of seconds remaining before it becomes available again.
2) Time taken is now displayed to the right of Last Score on the leaderboards.
3) If you’re on a Winning Streak then your Current Losing Streak will be zero so this isn’t displayed anymore in the stats if redundant (and vice versa).
4) Reset Stats for All Games now also sets the Total of All Games Played back to zero.
Bug Fixes in v7.31
1) The Demon Slayer achievement wasn’t awarded in the two new Superior Canfield rules.
2) Sometimes the Show Move button would be available even if turned off in the game settings.
3) The vertical spacing between cards on iPads was too large after a fresh install of the app.
4) Minor bug fixes.
