Don’t purchase this app. I did and now the app will not sync with the outlook or my phone contacts. Lost 5 years of my business cards. Total waste of time.Don’t download this app

All doubts about the capabilities of this app were quickly dismissed after the first hour of putting it through its paces. This is one app that Apple should ship with the iPhone and iPod Touch. Just brilliant.I was stunned to see how quickly and accurately it parsed details from physical business cards into the iPhone's contacts database. Field-by-field, the app automagically drops details from business cards into the correct section - including website URL and email address details. Even the company logo can be selected and added. It also retains a copy of the acquired card image to build a natty electronic version of a 'Rolodex'. Nice. I managed to get it to slip up twice - both with (ugly) business cards which featured curvy, stylised fonts. It did its best, but 'o', 'c', 'b' & 'd' all got a little bit muddled with the OCR. But just 2 cards in 56 (wildly varying designs) is still an impressive result and misreads are easily corrected.

Brilliant, informative & helpful would be the perfect words to some the app up, to start with I would really like to talk about the design and function of the interface of the app, the design is brilliantly done and very professional unlike a lot of apps that’s design is poor put together, this app has a brilliant easy to use layout. Moving onto one of the best parts of this review is talking about how well the app functions. This app is definitely a very big time saver when it comes to keeping track of business cards and various other cards it can be a pain to keep up with! Thanks to PenPower Inc they came up with a really nifty and handy idea to create an app that lets you access all the cards you need on the go! Not to mention how quick you can find a contact that you need to get a hold of, and I’m not sure if this is just me or if there are others but when it comes to sorting through my contacts I prefer there first name then there last name not vise versa, and that’s another really handy thing you can do with this app you can set it to the preference of your choice! Now I could go rambling on about how often I use this app and how helpful I think it is but I think you should see for yourself! Give it a go and I think you will be very surprised with the outcome of this app just like I was! So I just wanted to quickly add in as well thanks for all your great work in your apps PenPower, you have made my life a lot more easier and my job even more bearable so a BIG thanks again and keep up the great work! :)-Andy

This app is simply amazing on a 3Gs. Super fast OCR on a business card even with a hand-held photo in dim light, seems to average around the 95% accurate mark - usually only fooled when people have silly business cards with poor fonts, strange placement of details (eg company name is a background image), or the card itself is damaged (eg pen marks on names). Phone/mobile/fax numbers are almost always correct - again the only time it's failed there is because of the card itself having letters in the phone number for some insane reason. As others have noted I would love to be able to set in the preferences the default country so I can change it to Australia when in Australia, or another country when travelling. More often than not, this would mean adding a person's contact details into my 'phone via a business card a ten second or less job from start to finish. I also purchased the companion Contacts app - this is a take it or leave it app -> main advantage to using it is it saves a copy of the business card snapshot so you can always go back to the image to verify details. It does slow down the process slightly as it hops between the apps... I think I'll keep using it, but you might not find it so useful. This app though is a definite thumb's up. A dedicated card scanner costs ten times this price, is generally no more accurate, and is something else to lug around or find a spot on your desk for. Main advantages of a dedicated scanner is it being able to scan batches of cards at once, plus the scanned image being bettter - but you still have to verify the details afterwards so for me at least, this app has made those things obsolete.
