Mango is a native IRC client for iPhone and iPad. Follow your communities, catch up on conversations, and make your chat feel like home.
YOUR CONVERSATIONS, ORGANIZED
• Connect to multiple IRC networks and keep channels and direct messages together
• Find mentions in retained history and jump back to the original conversation
• Follow reply threads and browse pinned messages on compatible servers
• Search channels, complete nicknames, and use familiar IRC commands
MORE THAN PLAIN TEXT
• Rich link and image previews, inline video playback, and audio players with waveforms
• Emoji reactions, custom emoji, and image-link stickers
• Browse, re-share, and manage files in your Mango Uploads library
• Choose themes, fonts, chat layouts, and notification sounds
CONNECT YOUR WAY
• Direct IRC connections, TLS, and WebSocket connections to compatible servers
• soju and ZNC bouncer support, with network discovery and connection management
• Local conversation caching and earlier history from servers that support CHATHISTORY
• iCloud sync for your networks and settings across Mac, iPhone, and iPad
Server-dependent features require support from your IRC server or bouncer. Push notifications require a compatible bouncer and setup. Mango Uploads requires a Mango Account. You can connect to other IRC networks without a Mango Account; individual networks may require their own account.
Love the simplicity of this client! The only letdown is the client does not attempt to reconnect once losing a connection to server, that can get a little frustrating.
Still buggy
lolbof
As title says, still quite buggy. Connecting to servers/rooms is hit and miss. It will sometimes connect, other times it will give me an error message or will crash. Mouse clicks are off. For example, I want to message user A, but instead initiates messages with user B. Other strange bugs are the "message user" menu coming up when clicking the, "Console," "Search" etc. tabs above the sidebar. Other small things I've noticed include the cursor that's used when inputting text not appearing when hovering over the text input field.I will give it credit for a nice interface, though. I've been looking around for an IRC client with an interface that's not an eyesore, and this is the best so far.Needs a lot of work. Should be better than this, considering it's v2.0.4 and an app that needs to be paid for. This seems like something that is still in beta.
Non-native = naff
FantomCircuit
From the screenshots it looked like what I had been searching for. A basic, relatively new IRC client native to OSX. No X malarkey, Java, or stupid ui gimmicksUnfortunately, almost the whole UI is not using any of the native OS X controls. For example, the text input boxes are all custom, and so have a lot of weird quirks and bugs. Inactive window scrolling only works occasionally. I can't have the built-in spell-checker enabled on the message entry box (essential). If you care at all about this working like a native app, don't get it. You may as well use a web app instead.
Terrible

this app is terrible, I have it installed on a macbook pro (2016 with touchbar) and I can’t even connect to a server because the server dialog box is completely obscured. What a waste of $4.49. The App completely freezes and then need to force quit to close it down.
Mango 3.1.3 brings more reliable conversations and a tidier interface.
• Improved iPhone keyboard handling and composer visibility after returning to the app or reopening the keyboard
• App icon badges for unread mentions and private messages, including incoming push notifications
• Faster channel switching with large member lists and smoother conversation restoration
• Better reply threads, split views, swipe actions, reactions, and bubble previews on iPhone and iPad
• Reorganized Settings, clearer theme choices, and network diagnostics with session latency history
• Optional automatic acceptance of incoming direct messages, plus clearer Mango Account identity controls
• More reliable SVG avatars, links, and soju and ZNC connections, with better compatibility on networks without MONITOR
• New /sysinfo command for readable device and app information, plus crash and stability fixes
