Recently had Bali holiday with Premium Flex tickets. Tried to extend return fight but App was unreliable trying to change. When finally getting access to change flight comment was couldn’t change flight less the 48 hrs to original although Premium Flex are suppose to be able to change up to 2 hrs before original flight. Tried website and again no access to change flight. Tried calling and just got voice message. We paid the extra for these ticket and expect to be able to take advantage when required. Not impressed

I could not fly to south East Asia December 2019 returning January 2020 due to illness. I normally buy premium flexi fares but this time I bought promo fares. I rebooked in November 2019 to premium flexi fares for travel December 2020 returning January 2021, which cost me the extra fee for premium flexi the service fee and price differences. I’m glad I did as with covid 19 I’m not confident I maybe able to fly at the end of the year so with premium flexi fairs I have the luxury of changing my flight dates at no extra charge but I pay any price differences which is fine buy me. The problem I have is when I bring up my new flights in my bookings it shows the new dates as correct but when I click on my itinerary it shows the old dates which no longer exist. There is no contact numbers I can call to correct my issue and I’ve tried the Ava chat service but they don’t understand my question after rewriting it several times. I have been directed to live chat but I am on hold forever and I can’t get through. Facebook is non existent. I have no way at this point to fix the problem. I understand this is a trying time for AirAsia but seriously. I have been flying with AirAsia x and domestically in Asia for a few years and have held the airline in high regard. That’s slipping away very quickly. If anybody that may read this and are able to reply to it your help/ ideas would be appropriated. Regards Darren Australia
Forced phone number verification makes the app unusable for international travellers

This is one of the most user-hostile airline app designs I have ever experienced.I was already a registered, legitimate user and had successfully used the AirAsia app before. During an international trip, the app suddenly forced me to provide a phone number and immediately verify it via SMS.Here is the reality that whoever designed this clearly failed to understand:I was using a data-only travel SIM / eSIM, which has no phone number and cannot receive SMS. This is extremely common for international travelers.Because of this absurd requirement, the app locked me out completely at the exact moment an airline app is supposed to be critical.Let me be very clear:•International travel does NOT guarantee SMS access•Data-only SIMs are normal, not edge cases•Forcing immediate SMS verification with zero alternatives is not “security” — it is product incompetenceAirlines already have customer contact details. Forcing users to submit and verify yet another phone number mid-trip feels less like security and more like aggressive data collection for marketing, at the expense of basic usability.An airline app that fails during international travel is not just poorly designed — it fundamentally defeats its own purpose.This decision shows a complete disconnect from real-world usage and should never have passed basic product review.

This app has been very unreliable. Bookings have been difficult as my last booking I could NOT select premium flex but booked anyway and the booking was confirmed but was not confirmed on the app. Even now it says that even though I’m in Bali. I was not sent an itinerary or proper 6 digit booking number. I only managed to get an itinerary as I was sent an email to add upgrades which had the proper 6 digit booking number so I could go on the app and find it. Really poor. This app was one of the best but now one of the worst. Even now it wanted an upgrade in the app but not on iTunes. Have you been hacked?? How did this app get so bad so quick????? You are going to lose a lot of business. Please get it sorted to how it was, even 6months ago I had no problems and was more than happy to recommend and book. I’m very concerned about this.
