Many bills don’t repeat every month: for these bills, Chronicle will calculate how much you need to set aside each month so that you have enough to pay it when it comes due. For example, you may have an auto insurance bill of $500 that is due every 6 months. Chronicle will calculate that you need to set aside $83.33 each month in order to have enough to pay the bill each time it is due.
Intelligent Estimated Amount Due: Helps you know how much will be due for bills that vary. Using the type of bill, your payment history, and the time of year, Chronicle will intelligently calculate an estimate of how much is due. For example, Chronicle will be able to learn if your electric bills are higher or lower in the winter, and estimate accordingly.

Been using this for several years to record bills due and their payments. It’s better than a spreadsheet you can categorise your bills and sort them by categories, tags, dates etc. With most bill notification via email it is easy to log the amount and date due in advance. Setting up auto payments for direct debits/ payments is also easy. There are several informative reports that can be adjusted on the fly. I don’t use the budgeting aspect but can see how useful it could be. Being able to check if a bill has been paid or is due via iPhone or iPad when away from the laptop is a lifesaver for preventing the late penalties. Support is excellent, responsive and gives detailed information.

Chronicle has been the main tool to manage my day to day finances for years now and it is both simple and powerful enough to do so.The only feature that I think is missing is a way of producing reports: simple lists of payees, amounts, dates, frequency payments, history etc. That would make it absolutely perfect for me. So please, please, pretty please 🙏😆…!

Chronicle does a pretty good job of tracking recurring transactions but of course it‘ll never balance your books if you don’t enter all the one-off payments and income as well. One thing that I find very limiting is its failure to handle multiple currencies.Another thing is the hassle of visiting multiple bank, credit card, paypal accounts to collect all the data. A bank feed integration would really help. Also can I actually search and find a transaction?
