A very useful utility I often use

I am very surprised at the usefulness of Unclutter. I have found it particularly useful when using Word to create a weekly newsheet for my church. I can drag and drop text onto Unclutter and bring the snippets back in a future edition as needed. I can sift through my graphic files and drag the ones I like onto Unclutter and then trial each one in my newsheet as I create it. A bit like the desktop in MS Publisher where you can keep old articles etc for future use. I have found that there is no limit to the number of files you can put in the file section. It acts like a normal folder and you can quickview and multiselect like any other folder. Notes is useful for jotting down quick ideas or phone numbers etc for future use. The clipboard is simarly helpful in allowing you to keep multiple clippings and selectively use them.You can choose which folder you want to use to keep the Unclutter files etc if you don’t want to use the default one. You can choose a dropbox or box folder for example and have the material available across multiple macs.If you don’t use a particular panel (ie clipboard, files or notes) you can hide them in the preferences which makes the remaining panel(s) larger. You can also rearrange the order of the panels by dragging them acroos. You can choose to view the Unclutter panels by three seperate methods which all can run at the same time. ie. Mouse at top and scroll down, mouse at top and wait a period of time (.5, 1 or 2 seconds) or mouse at the top and hold a specified key..All in all a great little utility with some really useful ideas. Look forward to seeing it develop even more

I use Unclutter regularly to keep temporary notes and files off my desktop. Now that the notes feature allows storage of multiple notes, it’s much easier to easily manage notes and delete them when they’re no longer needed. I just bought a new laptop and installed Unclutter within the hour. Highly recommended.

I use Unclutter all the time. When my Mac restarts, this is an app that's in the start up folder. It makes my life a lot easier :)
