The app defaults to auto playing highlights and is hard to find full game to watch the full game off my phone. Can you please stop it auto playing. I’ve hide scores on, I don’t need to see the game result on a highlights package while searching for the full game option which doesn’t always appear immediately. The box score sitting below this window is impossible to use. It will only show the names that fit below the auto playing video. I can’t scroll down to see all at once as each time I scroll down or across to see the stats it jumps back up to the stupid video I didn’t ask it to play. It’s very annoying. The game feed works easily enough off the app on Apple TV but doesn’t work properly on iPhone or galaxy.

Updating in *2024* to note that the app gives the series result, letting you know who won the game, even if “hide scores” is on. As the other reviews say, this has been happening all playoffs and all we have from the developer is “make sure the app is up to date”. Why not just take the option to hide scores out if they’re not going to be hidden!—As a long time NBA fan far too late turned onto the awesomeness of the W I have to say this app does the Women a disservice by being far below the basic functionality we can expect from a sports app in 2022. While the basic functionality to present games is fine, the main reason to watch the games in an app rather than on TV is if you can’t see the games in real time, and the main job of the app is to allow you to get home from work and log on to watch the game without spoilers. The NBA app has a setting that allows you to hide scores and overall does a good job allowing you to watch a game that has already happened without knowing who won. Tonight for example, in a crucial game 5 winner take all semi between the Sky and the Sun, I dutifully quit the app and try and navigate back to the Archive without seeing spoilers on the front page. The game doesn’t show up there, only game 4! But then when I go to the front page to watch I get upcoming content from the winner, and a link to the game that does exist in the app, just not where it should be. This isn’t rocket science. Also, when you try and watch the well edited condensed games / extended highlights, the font is too small to read and so on the iPad you have to click on an icon to find out what it is. Please either license the NBA app for parity or invest in an interface designer the games deserve better!

Cannot check the box score for the bench players on the away team. App glitches out as soon as you move down to the bench players and appears to jump up and down repeatedly so you can’t see further down long enough before it jumps back up again. Game highlights automatically play when you click on the game, making you have to wait to load the game to look at the box score when you only want to look at the box score. The AI player highlights are constantly inaccurate and miss great plays, instead just showing random plays where the assist doesn’t mean anything (i.e my favourite player passed to another player who made a great move to the basket, my favourite player didn’t make an impactful assist). Also when you try and scroll to the right on the box score to see other stats, the page slides back up, meaning you cannot see any advanced stats on the bench players, only the starters. Please fix this!!!!!! It has been going on for months now, even after multiple updates.

Last year during playoffs I was so stoked to use the app for all my steaming but this year it’s a whole other story. Firstly, not being able to hide the scores surely is UX 101 for a sports app. My app keeps crashing. The landing page is so confusing it took me about 10 goes to find out where to even watch the last game. When I click through to some pages I land in a page within a page which then crashes and I end up back at the homepage again. It was impossible to figure out that my league pass has expired, and then when I did figure that out it was so hard to resubscribe on the app I ended up just doing it on my computer. There are just so many problems with this app, it’s poorly made, seemingly without any specific UX considerations about who the user is and what they need. Hire proper designers not just some off the shelf product that you’ve hacked. I would have given up but for my love of the WNBA. Do better.
