SMART RECORDING
Select your activity, and Slopes will figure out everything in the background (even what resort you're at, assuming you have cell reception). You can choose from ski, snowboard, monoski, sitski, telemark, and more. Slopes will automatically detect uphill, lifts, and runs for you all day long.
FIND YOUR FRIENDS ON THE MOUNTAIN
With live location on the recording screen, you can easily find each other! Location sharing is privacy-focused; you can always turn it on and off.
INTERACTIVE RESORT MAPS (Premium)
Navigate resorts with ease in 2D or 3D. See which run you or your friends are on and where to go next. Available for most resorts in Australia, New Zealand (and all over the world) - Perisher, Thredbo, Cardrona, The Remarkables, Coronet Peak, Mt. Hutt, Falls Creek, Turoa, Mount Buller, Mount Hotham, Whakapapa, Treble Cone, and more.
TRIP PLANNING & CONDITIONS
Plan upcoming trips and invite your friends to them to share in the hype. Trips let you keep tabs on resort conditions, who's coming or not, and who else was invited, all in one central place. Before you head up the mountain, check what other riders say about a resort's snow quality. While on the mountain, location sharing will automatically work with everyone on the trip - even the participants not on your friend list in Slopes.

Note: GPS is required, so Slopes will not work indoors. iPads and iPods will not be able to record with Slopes. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Other factors like temperature, battery health, and other apps running in the background will affect battery performance.
Tally stats about your skiing and snowboarding adventures – distance covered, how fast you were going, even how long you waited on a chairlift – then easily review and share with others.

Tracked runs in Australia and Hakuba, Japan with Apple Watch 4 and iPhone 11 Pro. Both have plenty of power left even after tracking a day of runs. Before you go to the snow you can set reminders to start the app when you arrive at specific resorts. Great when you get caught up in the excitement of finally getting back on to the snow again so you don’t forget.Tracking seems to be quite accurate. Detects when you are on lifts, waiting and snowboarding/skiing.Great to see the best runs of the day.Keeps a logbook of all of your runs of the season.Have imported GPX logs from Garmin Oregon of older trips. Required some editing within the app to determine what were runs and what were lifts in the track. Worked well.I’m on to my second annual subscription. The developer is constantly updating the app which is visible in the Version History. Other tracking apps seem to get mothballed by their developers.App looks great on the iPad to nerd out on your runs later.
It’s no good if you can’t see it.

The tech seems fine and the data and statistics are what I would like to see BUT I can’t see it!Slopes only works with iWatch and iWatch has to be worn against your skin. So to see your max speed at the bottom of a run, you have to pull your glove half off and slide your sleeve up to be able to see your data. I’ve been wearing wrist mounted GPS since 2004 and they’ve all been worn on the outside of my jacket so I can see the data at a glance and without freezing my fingers off. The only way this system will ever be any good will be if you can hear the data since you can’t see it. An ever increasing number of people have Bluetooth speakers in their helmets so the system could be programmed to say ‘30’ when you got to 30 kmh and then ‘40’ and so on. Or maybe you could set the system to announce your speed every 20 seconds. Then when it senses you stopped at the bottom, it could announce Max Speed, Average Speed and Distance travelled or whatever other stats you set it to say. Anyway, right now, it’s close to useless if I can’t see the data without having to wrestle with my clothing in the lift line.
Many great features and room for more

Generally love this app but it had a mishap recently; I was on the chair lift and decided to take a photo, somehow the app stopped recording, when I stopped for lunch I paused it and saw it didn’t look right. Restarting after lunch it recorded everything. When I got home I thought I would fix the gaps but adding them in was clunky. Since I skied the whole day with hubby, I wish I could have imported his runs for the mission period. It was clunky because each time I wanted to add a run it said insufficient gps data, I had to click ok, then once the run was added I had to click edit again to add the next run. I didn’t bother adding the lifts as it was too annoying. So, maybe an import ski buddy’s data not the details of speed just where and when…
- The tab bar now automatically minimizes when you record as we noticed it was confusing a lot of new users, not realizing everything you need is on the recording screen (nearby friends, resort map, live status, etc). Don't worry, you can tap the arrow at the bottom to bring it back if you need to get to other parts of the app.
- If you're on the manage friends screen and you accept a friend invite, it'll refresh to show the new friend right away.
- Fixed a bug where you could use light-mode maps in dark-mode as a free user.
- Fixed a case where photos might not load in the logbook until you scroll.
- Fixed sharing from the timeline screen.
- Fixed a crash that could occur after you close Slopes for the day. You never would see it, but it bothered me it was crashing.
