The internet is too important to be controlled by a handful of powerful people. Bluesky is building an open, community-driven foundation for the social internet. With one account, you can use the Bluesky app and take your identity anywhere on the growing ecosystem of apps built on the same protocol.
A pretty satisfying alternative to twitter that will feel very familiar to earlier pre-Musk twitter users. With the addition of a few more features such as drafts, bookmarks, group chats, and the ability to limit audience on individual posts (eg what twt circles was or instagrams close friends feature does) this app will move from a 4.5/5 to a 5/5!Right now Bluesky is very much functioning as “social” media should and did at its inception before corporate greed and chasing “growth” became more important than keeping a user base satisfied.Time will be the true test for this app- will it remain free from the capitalistic pitfalls of other social media apps, clogged up with advertising and bots and implementing algorithms that kill actual social engagement? Or will we see it go the way of many others and get sold to the highest bidder that guts it of everything that made it great? Hopefully the former! Love your work Bluesky team!
Thank heaven for Bluesky! …but some bugs…

On the whole I’m glad to be back on a fresh social media that isn’t trying to control me. I don’t mix posts by friends because the algorithm doesn’t want to show it to me. Yay! No more posts about gigs three days after they happened! But there’s a couple of bugs. If your on a persons profile scrolling thru their content and click to see a picture up close. When you close the picture you’re taken back to the top of their profile and have to scroll back down to where you were last in their posts. The worst bug is if you’re on iPad, with horizontal lock, the app doesn’t override and switch to portrait like it should. This means it’s a small portrait rectangle in the middle of the horizontal screen. It’s hard to read or see the content. Instagram is the only other program with this bug, and it drives me batty.
Off the deep end/ do not install
Mr headkick
Ive been using Bluesky on and off for about a year ago now, ever since the more rage oriented nature of twitter started to spiral out of control. Bluesky was a breath of fresh air, featuring feeds of people just sharing what they had for lunch today, always captioned with the words “good lunch.” This is all to say i was quite surprised to see Bluesky forcing changes to their terms of services that users had actively pushed back and asked them not to do so. Now while my personal interests don’t find themselves aligned with the people these policies affect, the whole thing feels like a gross overstep of users boundaries. All of that had dulled my love for the social media site but ultimately the policy changes didn’t affect me however now the current CEO of Bluesky has been lashing out at the general user base. Its frustrating to find yourself moving to a website which promises itself to be something different, only for the CEO to be the person throwing the first stone. Take this as a sign to not install this app and maybe just update your friends over text instead.
Really good, but needs upgraded user interface for certain devices.

Bluesky Social is really good, and I feel like I should be using it more. The userface is similar to X (formerly Twitter)'s interface, making it easier for users transitioning from X (formerly Twitter) to Bluesky easy, while still keeping it recognisable that you can tell the two apps apart. The only problem with the app I have is that Bluesky was built for users on phones, and thus not having a version for tablets, including the iPad models. Me, along with other users of this app, would like to see an update that give Bluesky UI more easier to navigate for tablet. Thanky you Bluesky employee for reading this review.
Trending, now on your home screen! Add the new Bluesky widget to see what everyone’s talking about without even opening the app. Plus, we squashed some bugs and made things snappier.
