I mean free stories, what’s not to love?I’ve used both the app and website for over a year now but what finally tipped me over the edge and got me to leave a rating was the global filter. That thing is awesome, now I’m not going to see any books with content which is a hard no for me. All I can say is that they have done an awesome job. And hey, even the ads are really non-invasive, if you have a complaint I think you’re looking too hard.
Be selective when ads you display
wolbeas
I’m only leaving 3 starts instead of 1 with the hope that it will be fixed. I understand you need ads to operate and cover expense and that’s fair but when there is an ad displayed with a circle at size of my nail flashing red and white constantly and it’s on the reading page, then I’m not going to use your app at all. It’s a reading app, displaying animated ads or with flashing lights on the reading page is extremely irritating and very distracting.Either remove ads from reading page and keep them everywhere else on the app or don’t display animated ads on it.
App issues
CJMark5
The story I find that a good are great but the app is nothing but a pain to deal with it has issues like constant freezing making me unable to do anything and require at a minimum shutting down the app sometimes restarting my phone and/or deleting and reinstalling it and this issue happens many many times every day driving me up the wall, I complained which they said they’ll be fixing in the next update but hasn’t in the multiple updates, they said I need to update my OS which is automatically updated (I’ve checked) and this problem has been going on for over a month I’m getting fed up, I maybe if I can find the stories I like elsewhere I’d go there.
Meh, Not that great.
Arcane Entity
As someone who had programmed my own app for Royalroad I was quite excited when I heard that an official app would be coming out. Especially when this would be by Royalroad team themselves and would thus work far more efficiently than my own.It is a shame then that the main reason that I would want an app for this website, to be able to read offline, is locked behind a paywall. I would be fine with a one time payment, but having to pay monthly for a feature that other apps can do without paying, no thanks.I hope you guys find success with this app, but this isn’t for me.
- New: Filter to show deleted history entry items + undo deletion button.
- Misc: Show processing indicator when history item is being deleted and success message when deletion succeeds.
- Fix: Knowledgebase link in the review rejection internal email opened the support page in the app instead of opening the knowledgebase page in the browser.
- Probable fix: CarPlay skip and freezing issue + audio not playing for some users.
