So downloaded the game after seeing an ad playing another game. The quality of the graphics in the ad was what made me download it. It didn’t show what kind of game it was, so I didn’t know what I was downloading, but I know if the graphics are that good, they’ve put a lot of effort into it and it’s probably worth it. After downloading, amazing. The graphics and visuals are high quality, the game play is great. Love that you can progress naturally without that feeling that you can only play if you pay. The amount of things you can do also means that if you’re waiting on things to be built, there’s still other things to play. This game is amazing, and due to the high quality range of tasks, I’d be happy to and probably will spend some money on it from time to time. Well done!

So I started out liking this. Just a cuter variation of Age of Empires. But after about a week into it, the ability to watch ads to boost city productions stopped working. I didn’t change a single setting from when I installed the game, game just decided “ there are no more videos at this time, try again later”. After about a week, I messaged support and they gave me the standard response: change ad settings, close, reload, restart iPad….blah blah blah. Nothing worke d. So I’m now stuck in the second age, constantly running out food bc I’m unable to boost city production. Outside of this, food sourcing is limited to treasure hunts & your city. Need an insane amount of housing to be able to supply workers for your city and bc of this only have 4 farms. No where near enough to level a lvl 27 hero more than once per day. Goods production slow, and the amounts needed for starting civilizations is heavy. All in all losing interest fast. Can’t complete weekly special city themes either as they are rescouce costly and low production output. Too bad about it all. Could have been a fun remake of AoE.

I love the game play. certainly bugs to be ironed out including being charged for free items and for things that were not purchased. It’s definitely focused on the battle side more than city building. Would love to have more interaction with other alliance members and other alliances. Keep up the good work

I just started playing and it’s ok, very similar to other games with the same mechanics, but this has a historical character theme, which is interesting. I was shocked how fast I hit the pay to continue wall, much faster than other games. Give us money or go away and come back later. I’m not even sure if I can buy some stuff to carry on, looks like I need a hour glass thing to do some research, but I have to wait half an hour for the next one.It’s a bit pathetic really. I might go away and not bother coming back. The drop rate for heroes was disappointing, no blue ones at all and only one red, seems rigged to be super frustrating.Edit: It’s been about 3 weeks and I’m adding another star, and a few more complaints. I’m enjoying this a lot now that more features have opened up, but…Everything in the shop is too expensive, in app purchases are way more expensive than other games and not worth it. I really wanted to buy something, but when I saw the prices I thought OMG! I’m not paying that! It’s disappointing, I usually buy a few things when I’m enjoying a game, but not this one.The subscription isn’t too bad but it auto renews without a choice, I would consider it if I could turn off auto renew.The drop rate for good heroes is abysmal.Some supposedly good heroes die very quickly, which is frustrating.I’m getting a subtle sense that Arena is rigged and the matching system is horrible. Visibility and information gathering for alliances is limited, it’s impossible to search for a ‘better’ alliance, especially when you are already in one. There’s no option to privately message other players for information gathering. Chat is only within your alliance and it’s public. I’m enjoying it more now because there’s a lot to learn, it’s quite challenging figuring out how to keep production optimally balanced, there’s not the intense pressure to keep up with your server like in similar games.Watching adds is completely optional, if you do, you speed things up and get more stuff, which is how it should be.I want to give this 5 stars because it gets some important things right. But it frustrates me just enough that I’m leaving it at 4.
