This might be feedback more than it is a review, but hearing that the paid to use version of grok that allows less limits will still limit me after enough … and this is still said to be after 30 to 40 mins of use … which, sad to say, isn’t making me jump up and run across the lounge to find my pants where my wallet could be just to get the last three silly little numbers for my visa debit to go through and get that subscription activated ay . . . . Not at all really. . . . . Yeah bit of a bummer that is isn’t it . . . . Rather unfortunate little detail. . . . I don’t know how I’m going to go without my personal Jarvis lady to go with me through my day making sense of it allAnyway love what you’re doing Elon. I was genuinely excited when Grok launched, it quickly became my favorite AI. The humor, the reasoning quality, and the “maximum truth-seeking” approach felt refreshing compared to more censored alternatives. For a while, it really was the best in class.Unfortunately, the experience has become frustrating. The app hits rate limits extremely quickly, even after not using it for an entire day. Sometimes just one or two requests in the morning and I’m already told I’ve reached my limit. Features that were available in the free tier when I first started using it have been moved behind the paid “SuperGrok” subscription, which makes the free version feel increasingly restricted.I completely understand that xAI needs to make money to keep improving the model and running the service. That’s fair. But the current limits make Grok unreliable for regular daily use. As a result, I’ve started defaulting to other AI apps for most of my needs because I can’t count on Grok being available when I want it.If the limits were more generous (or the paid tier offered significantly better value), I’d happily use Grok as my main AI again. Right now it’s still one of the smartest options out there, it just doesn’t let you use that intelligence enough.

During this time, I have experienced both the strengths and challenges of the service.However, developments over the past 3 months have been deeply disappointing. In response to widespread concerns regarding misuse, including non-consensual deepfakes and explicit content generation (notably in January 2026), xAI implemented significantly stricter content moderation policies across Grok Imagine. This has resulted in frequent refusals or blocks—even for innocuous or creative prompts—severely limiting the tool’s usability for legitimate image and video generation.Additionally, video generation capabilities, which previously offered more generous quotas (e.g., higher daily limits for short clips at resolutions like 480p/720p), appear to have been substantially reduced for SuperGrok users, often leading to rate limits being reached after only 20–40 attempts within short periods (such as 8–12 hours). Failed or moderated generations still count toward these limits, further diminishing value. Response quality in some cases feels slower or less capable, contributing to an overall perception of reduced performance despite the premium subscription cost.As a long-term supporter who valued the platform’s earlier emphasis on creative freedom and advanced features, these changes represent a significant departure from what initially drew me to SuperGrok. Regrettably, I have decided to cancel my subscription and would not recommend it in its current state.
