I am new to AI, 52 years old and not overly tech savvy if I’m being honest.Pika is super easy to use and I look forward to getting more out of it as I go on. Highly recommend

I’m coming from Kling. I’ve been using that for about a month and I really love the image to video feature; it’s a lot of fun. While YMMV when it comes to getting it to convert your prompts into the videos you imagine, I’m overall happy with the results. I read a blog about Pika and thought I’d give it a try, so without even testing the free version, I went ahead and paid $28 for 1 month.Pika and Kling are similar products. Kling offers the effects feature, but there are only two from what I have seen (squish and balloon). Pika has a much wider variety of effects to choose from. I just tried one of them and it worked out great. When it comes to the Pikascene and image to video features, the prompt is on a single line, so I have to scroll right/left to read it. I’m using a mobile phone obviously and I find this ridiculous and annoying. For image to video there don’t seem to be any options other than to select the mode. In Kling I can at least set the length (5 or 10 seconds) and relevance/creativity. To test I simply used some photos and prompts I’d used in Kling before. Using Turbo the results were terrible. Using 2.1 the results were also no good. The first image I used is of my wife sitting on her friend’s motorcycle. I copy/pasted the prompt I’d previously used in Kling. The video should depict my wife riding away on the bike. The result was that the bike and girl came out very poorly. The background and camera movement did seem more dynamic and exciting compared to Kling, though the camera didn’t follow the bike properly. The Kling version keeps all of the detail in the girl and bike and correctly tracks it as it speeds away. The second image was of myself and a life sized model of the hulk. In Kling I produced a quite well done video of myself fighting the hulk. The details on myself, except for my face and head, are maintained, and the hulk looks amazing. In Pika the details in both characters are lost, and the hulk becomes quite cartoony. The fighting looks mostly ridiculous, with the hulk hardly doing anything other than holding his arm outstretched. In all honesty if I’d known these were the kind of results I’d get I wouldn’t have paid to upgrade my plan. In any case I cancelled it. I will continue to use up my credits unless the results continue to be so poor that I stop bothering. Well at least there are the effects.

The fact I give this App basic directions and it misses the mark and produces inaccurate videos is unacceptable. Wasting paid credits on inaccurate content is a scam! Needs a few more years of your money before I would return to this App as it’s a total waste of money as is! Imagine paying for the basic plan and that commercial contract does not allow me to use the videos commercially too! This is unacceptable!! Other apps are fare better!

Some of my videos are still in queue since days on a pro plan, my credits have been taken away though. Support didn’t respond or credit back. I will cancel my subscription and try another platform as I need a reliable platform and support when I have some jobs to be done.
