Euchre is a trick-taking game with a trump suit, played by four players in teams of two.
Each team aims to win the majority of the tricks.
Euchre uses a deck of 24 cards: 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace of each suit.
Five cards are dealt to each player.
The top card of the deck is turned face up to determine the potential trump suit.
Players decide the trump suit starting with the player to the dealer's left.
Players can pass or order the suit up, making it the trump.
If all players pass, they name a different suit or pass again. The dealer must name a trump if all pass again.
Unique ranking: Right Bower (Jack of trump suit), Left Bower (Jack of same color suit), Ace, King, Queen, 10, 9.
Players must follow the suit led if they can; otherwise, they can play any card.
Highest card in the leading suit wins the trick unless a trump card is played.
The team that picks the trump (Makers) must win at least three tricks to score.
The game ends when a team reaches 10 points.
