As part of our goal to help more pilots succeed, we offer the LogTen service completely free until you have logged more than 50 hours of total time! And with or without a subscription, you always get updates, and you always get full access to your data, where you can view, edit, generate reports, export, and print.
Pricing may vary by location (see pricing under Top in App Purchases, or right in the App in the Store section of Settings). Your subscription will be charged to your credit card through your iTunes account and will automatically renew 24 hours prior to the end of the current subscription period, unless auto-renew is disabled beforehand. I decided a couple of months ago to switch from an excel logbook I made, to LogTen Pro and I am especially glad I did. I found that the program was very easy to navigate. Even if you struggle with computers you have nothing to worry about because everything is backed up either to the cloud or to Dropbox. I never felt nervous to “explore” the program further because I knew I could always just restore to a previous save if I made an error. The LogTen program has multiple pages, so you don’t get information overload thrown straight at you. Simply write your data entry in the logbook tab, and then when you’re ready to print, go to the reports tab. This made data entry much quicker and easier than when I was using Excel, I didn’t have to switch between cells constantly to then later discover I had put data in the wrong cell.I could talk for ages about how impressed I am with the program (which I have to co-workers), but what I really want to highlight is the service. I wanted help to make a custom logbook loosely based on the Australian ASA logbook. Both Enrico and Thomas were happy to help, and spent what I would presume to be hours upon hours of work to make this happen. They kept me informed via email correspondence with what changes they were making and an expected completion time. The service they provided was absolutely second to none. I couldn’t have asked for better care and eye for detail when they made my new report template. Thank You to the entire team! - Adam

I’ve been using LogTen pro for a number of year now and it’s made my life so much easier. I import my roster as soon as it’s published and then just fill in the blanks as I fly. It couldn’t be easier. Syncing from my iPad, to iPhone and iMac simultaneously is fantastic meaning I always have a copy of my logbook with me and backups everywhere.

I’ve been using LogTen pro since around 2011 and would recommend new pilots avoid the unjustifiably high pricing scheme for an app that is essentially as complex as a spreadsheet program.When you look at the duration of a pilots career which may span 40 years, and factor in the annual price, you are making an expensive investment for a logbook with a difficult transition back if you ever decide to end your subscription. I originally purchased the app for a once off payment and was happy with that. However, with IOS updates, my logbook was no longer supported and I was forced onto an ever increasing price for a subscription service and little options to leave without having to manually enter or rewrite my logbook.Two stars for this review because the app is functional and easy to use as an electronic logbook.

With regards to pricing, our annual year over year cost has remained consistent for quite some time now, taking into consideration upgrade costs and now our annual subscription model. As an added bonus, we recently increased the amount of free time to go along with the free download 400% - from 40 hours to 250 - to allow students to begin their flying career and then some with the worlds most beautiful and professional logbook. Furthermore, our new subscription model will now allow everyone to continue to access their logbooks and ensure that LogTen Pro will always be compatible with every new operating system and new device, regardless of subscription status. Additionally, the ability to export your data as a spreadsheet has always been available, and our support staff are always happy to help with any transition. Been with the app since it started and they only getting more greedier each year. Thought the 3 year package was a hit but just found out that now they charge annually for the same price they did for 3 years almost. Like seriously what updates do you do that requires so much money. From a Pilots perspective all we need is a recording system and ability to print. THERE ARE FAR BETTER APPS OUT THERE that dont rip you off like this. Take my word guys and stay away as once you start with your data logging they hook you on just how they did with the app updates previous years. Too much money for not enough service. If there was a lower star on the scale in the negatives thats what I would be rating it !

We gave our long term customers a very substantial discount to help with the transition to a subscription. Which, it's important to note, for long time users, still costs less than the average annual price when we charged using the 'paid upgrade' model. And I'm sure many pilots would not agree that their logbook is simply a recording system with printing facility. The analyzing features, smart group functionality (to create currency, duty/rest limits etc.), planning feature for ensuring pilots are flying within regulated limits ... and a lot more ... are all features requested by pilots. We don't develop any feature that is not a direct pilot request. We also offer the most export options of any logbook out there - so pilots are never 'hooked'. Having said all this, I understand the challenge of moving to a subscription and would be happy to have a further conversation with you to hopefully convince you that the few dollars a month LogTen Pro costs is worth every penny.
