Love the app - after much searching, this was exactly what I was after, almost perfect. I love the location tracker, detailed enough for hikes / recording my paths while snowboarding etc. I use it as a journal, adding photos and writing a memo for the place I’m in. Only things I would like to see improved: if I have bad internet (drops out when I click “publish”) or click to open something else and return to the app, often the entry I was working on is completely deleted if not “published”, causing frustration! Would be great if it automatically “saved as draft” or something, rather than having to start all over again. Also, would be cool to be able to specify time in the same place over multiple days, rather than just arrival time, although this doesn’t bother me too much! Great app :)

My experience is with an iPhone 13, travelling across Europe. The 2 biggest issues I have with this app are; very slow to respond and does use quite a bit of data. The response time is deeply frustrating. If you are on a bus, train or other moving object and want to take a picture, when you open the app and try to add another step, it can take 20-30 seconds to respond - meaning that shot is no longer there. I have also experienced it freezing when the camera is open and it can take a long time to respond and take the shot. ‘A long time’ can be measured by my wife's frustration at me constantly standing still holding my phone up whilst looking silly. Or the tour guide constantly telling me to catch up to the group. I have had to use just the regular camera to take a picture and then upload it; but that then makes me ask why use this app? The data use is also annoying. You expect most people who are travelling not to have unlimited data like you do at home. For me, the app used 2Mb data in 2 weeks, which was publishing steps for one day and then only saving the steps as drafts to be uploaded by wifi. That was all the data my overseas plan gave me for a month so I had to buy more. The performance seems to have slowed with more steps and photos. I am using this app to share my trip with friends at home, so am loading a lot if steps and photo’s. It also randomly reboots, normally at an inopportune time. Tracking can be inaccurate - if travelling a return route one leg will be different to the other. Overall it’s but not good enough. I’d have to say this app may not be for me.

Good but…

While I am loving many aspects of this app I am on a two year trip and this has presented many frustrations and challenges within this app for me. It would be great if you could split a trip into sections. I have just found the limitations on printing the trip info when I have finished and my trip will need a number of books. The blue bar that moves across the entry suggestions has the number day of the trip. This is useless information when I am looking through my camera roll to add pictures. It would be far more relevant if it had the date. Or both. This seems like it would make a huge difference to making this app more user friendly. Likewise it would be awesome if you were able to select photos to add from your camera roll and the app were able to insert them into the trip according to the date or location they were taken. I also find the app very slow in synchronising which could be due to the size of my trip. I’m not sure but if I could split that trip now I fell that would be another huge improvement.
