We had some concerns as we were doing a 14 hour flight from Melbourne to Abu Dhabi immediately followed by a 6 hour flight to Milan; all with a 10 month old baby. From the ticket counter through the gate and into the air our experience was without a doubt far greater than we had expected. The bassinet seating was booked so the Etihad agents gave my wife and I with our 10 month old baby a row to ourselves so that we had more than enough space to accommodate our needs and desires. While in the air the flight attendants were extremely proactive and making sure our experience was one to remember. They interacted with our baby boy and went as far to give him a ‘Flight Certificate’ for him to remember his first flight with Etihad. We will definitely use this airline again in the future because we know they care about us as individuals. Thank you Etihad.

Hello there, I usually use Etihad when I’m flying and it’s a smooth sailing for the most part. But when it comes to food there is a huge issue for me as I believe for other customers that cannot consume gluten. A simple request of a gluten free meal that doesn’t contain fish or meat was denied. Which means if you are coeliac and vegetarian there is no way you can eat anything more than bread on a flight.And considering that you pay more than $3000 for a flight I would like to know what is the difference between myself and any other customer that they are given more than two and three food options for their flight. And especially when my request has got to do with a health issue and not a caprice.I will be writing a big review on trip advisor so maybe other people will come forward and speak up.I think an airline , any airline, in 2020 should step up its game to be viable.RegardsMargaret Kakolyris
“Unpaid items” issue

It is disappointing that when you change your seat selection on checkin, within the same price bracket you already paid for, the app and website try to tell you that you need to pay again for seat selection and that you have “unpaid items” … one then needs to abort the check in to avoid the payment and then refresh to get the system to update correctly … this is not a good experience.

Cabin crew had no control EY22

Worst flight I have ever had with Etihad. Most disappointing !! From the start guests were just sitting where they wanted and not in allocated seats. Cabin crew asked them to go to their seats, but we’re ignored, and therefore the cabin crew just gave up and left them to go where they wanted.During the flight less than 50% wore masks. Cabin crew never once personally asked anyone to put a mask on ( just the announcement )Kids were running up and down the isles dropping everyone’s tables as they went last. Again cabin crew did nothing. Kids were howling as the ran up and down the isles. Cabin crew did nothing. Kids were playing seated in the isles cabin crew did nothing.One child was hit by the food trolley!As a Silver Etihad member, and a Platinum Virgin member. Pre covid I would fly every month with either Etihad or virgin.I’m now on flight EY460 I’m hoping it will be better, as this is another 13 hours on top of the 7 hours from hell I have just had.Regards,Michael Dixon
