Certainly does all the basics, but some functions available on the remote (such as 10° night setback) and fan setting Auto are not available in the app. Intrigued by previous reviewer’s mention of IFTTT - must try that. The app crashes every second or third time I open it, but then starts fine when tapped again. Overall, glad we got it. UPDATE: After several months of use, the app crashes very frequently, ie most times it is opened. It also often says the module in the AC unit has lost contact with the WiFi, despite there being no problem with the WiFi. Maybe check if your AC can be controlled by a different remote setup.

It’s expensive adding the required wi-fi gadget to a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries air conditioner so you might expect a top notch internet connected solution. Unfortunately what you actually get is an unstable app which can be counted on to crash at some point almost every time you use it. An annoying querk is the tendency for the air conditioners to be randomly reorded on the screen making it easy to mistakenly select the wrong air conditioner. When it does work, it only offers a small selection of what the standard remote control offers - just the absolute minimum. There is an Apple Watch app but it’s completely useless. It’s hard to even guess what it’s supposed to be able to do. The app is useful to the extent that it enables the possibility of coming home to a suitably warmed or cooled house. If this app was presented as a student project it would be very lucky to get a pass mark. 24-Aug-2022 update: Nothing has changed. The stability and all round quality of this app is frankly appalling. It reminds me of Windoze on a bad day in the early 1990s.

Here we are in Dec-2023 the instability is no better than before and the app currently doesn't work at all on any of my 3 air conditioners. So downgrading to from 2 stars to 1 star. I would assign a zero star rating but unfortunately this is not possible.

My needs for AC cloud control are reasonably basic, but it all works great ie on-off controll and temperature control. As an added bonus the app works brilliantly with the IFTTT app. I do not use the heatpump in summer, but I have it set up now via IFTTT that the heatpump turns on if the temp drops below 14 degrees celsius (more common during summer in Tasmania than you might think) and turns back off when the temperature reaches 18 degrees. Very nice…
