LG Screen Manager (LG Monitor‪)‬ 4+

I noticed this app changed my network settings on Ventura 13.1 and was included as a network option.

I thought that's risky - but not to worry as it needs to be authorized to connect by admin, which I would not allow.

Less than a week later after using the display extensively for system logins and approvals, I noticed that the LG App had CHANGED my network permissions, nominating the LG Modem to become my network, from my authorised Ethernet connection. A very dangerous app for security-wise.

I deleted that app and it makes no difference to the clumsy joy-stick interface provided at the bottom of the screen, so thought I would alert others of this dangerous unwanted system changes.

I am wondering how it gained the admin priviliges to change the network without my consent, and am left wondering if there is keyboard logging software included in the display, as it clearly has a built in modem.

Just I would alert others to my worrying security experience with this app. I do not trust the display anymore - very scary that it has somehow learned the admin password and made those changes without my admin consent😡

the monitors themselves look great but if you have a problem you are in trouble - Apple wont touch it even within the 30 days and when you contact LG you have to take it to one of their very few repairers - could be 1000 miles away !
so now i put up with a flickering monitor because its just too hard
The app does almost nothing although i did notice it looks like its doing nothing but is querying the firmware version and finally tells you the version mine was u to date so i cant verify if the update procedure works or not

I downloaded this app to control my brand new LG monitor and it does not even see that there is an LG monitor connected even though I am viewing the app on a current model LG monitor.
