The relationship map is easier to read. Pick its shape and lines, enlarge text and circles, and tap a name to see its relationships. Connect your lore and see it all.
Bring your scattered "settings" into one world
When you build a long story, your characters, places, organizations, terms, and historical timeline end up scattered across memos and spreadsheets. "Where did I write that character again?" — that search kills your creative momentum.
Lorebind is a "second brain" for your worldbuilding, made for novelists, TTRPG game masters, and every kind of creator. Not a heavy, complex tool — we focused on being fast and simple.
How worlds work
- One story = one world. Put a whole novel or a whole campaign into a single world.
- Even if you only half-remember a name, fuzzy search finds it — inside a world, or across all of them. As your projects grow, you never have to remember which world you wrote something in.
What you can do
- Organize characters / places / organizations / items / terms / events by type, and pick an icon color for each entry
- Answer a few questions and auto-generate a starter world (characters, places, relationships, timeline) — no more blank page
- Turn names in your text into links with "[[" or "@". Jump to related entries instantly, and see what references them with backlinks
- Visualize how characters and factions connect with a relationship map — filter by type and spread it out with two fingers
- Fuzzy search and tags to solve "what was that character again?"
- A timeline that supports fictional calendars
- Attach images like portraits and covers (Plus)
- Drop pins on a map image to see how places relate (Plus)
- Export your whole world to Markdown for backup (free). Formatted PDF export is Plus
- Choose dark, light, or match your device (with a white or beige background in light mode)
- Back up your data, and revert a world to an earlier saved copy
Fully offline and privacy-first
Write anywhere: on the train, on a plane, with no signal. Your data is stored on your device and never sent to our servers. No ads, no tracking.
(If you're signed in to iCloud, you can share your worlds between your own devices via Apple's servers. Nothing is sent or received until you tap a button in Settings. Using iCloud is free.)
Pricing
Create one world for free and use the core features (entries, links, search, timeline, relationship map, world generation, Markdown export). For those who want more, there is the paid plan "Lorebind Plus":
- Lorebind Plus: unlimited worlds / image attachments / map view / PDF export
- Choose monthly, yearly (with a 7-day free trial), or a one-time purchase (yours forever)
- Payment is charged to your App Store account
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- You can manage or cancel anytime in Settings. Canceling never removes the worlds or images you've created. If you've had at least one paid period, you can keep editing all your worlds after canceling. If you cancel during the free trial, any additional worlds created during the trial become read-only (your first world always stays editable).
Bring the world in your head into your pocket. Build your story world, more freely, with Lorebind.
Lorebind Plus (auto-renewable subscription)
- Monthly / Yearly plans (a one-time purchase is also available)
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase
- Renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Manage or cancel anytime in Settings > your Apple ID > Subscriptions

Ratings & Reviews
This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
What's new in this version (the relationship map is easier to read):
- You can now choose how the map is laid out. Tap View (the sliders button at the top right) and pick a Shape: Circle, Oval, or Rounded Rectangle.
- Lines now run from edge to edge, with arrowheads showing the direction of each relationship. When the two directions differ, you'll see two lines; when they're the same, one line with arrowheads at both ends. Under Lines in View, choose Straight or Curved.
- Show or hide the labels on lines with Relationship labels in View.
- Use − and + at the bottom to make text and circles larger or smaller in five steps, and ↺ to restore the original size and position.
- When there are many connections, use ‹ › at the bottom to page through all of them.
- Long-press a circle, or tap a name or the text on a line, to see the full name and its relationships in a bubble.
- When you rotate your device, each page keeps the same entries.
- Text inside the map now stays the same size regardless of your device's text size setting. To make it larger, use +.
- The How-to guide now explains these controls.
- With VoiceOver, circles in the map now include hints about what you can do.
Still worth repeating from version 2.3.9 (the relationship map controls have changed as described above):
- Lorebind now has a light theme. In Settings > Appearance, choose Dark, Light, or Match device. In light mode, you can pick a white or beige background, and you can also choose a Theme color and the Home Screen icon (with the light icon, the launch screen is light too). Your current look (dark) stays the same.
- You can now choose an icon color for each entry (Icon color when editing an entry). It shows in lists, details, and the relationship map.
- If the Home Screen icon can't be changed, you'll now see a message.
- Some messages shown when restoring data in Settings appeared in Japanese. They now appear in English.
- The How-to guide has been updated (you can open it from Settings).
- We addressed a case where the review request shown when opening the relationship map could overlap with a screen transition.
- If you use Lorebind on more than one device, please update all of them.
And from version 2.3.8:
- Free trials now work differently. If you start a free trial on or after September 30, 2026 and cancel during the trial, any additional worlds created during the trial become read-only: you can only view them and export them (Markdown). Your first world always stays editable. If you've had at least one paid period, you can keep editing all your worlds after canceling. Canceling never removes the worlds or images you've created.
- Placing pins on a map is a Lorebind Plus feature. Without Plus, tapping Add pin now shows the Plus screen. We also addressed a case where the menu at the top right of the map showed nothing.
