My Local Services delivers information on recycling and waste collection, parks, points of interest and more. It also allows you to report local maintenance issues and receive news from participating authorities. The App is designed primarily for South Australian councils and only provides a waste collection schedule for subscriber councils mainly in South Australia. If your council area is not a subscriber then limited functionality is provided ie: the ability to lodge a Report to any South Australian council and basic contact information for South Australian councils.

Ugh. I wanted to give some feedback to the developer, but

The support link just leads to an about page for the app with no mention of support.Anyway. Developers could think about providing a way for submitted reports to be reviewed (having effectively removed the ability to find sent reports in the email sent folder).

Easy to use but needs some extra features

Good app and handy to report a council issue or hazard; but needs the ability to enter the address of the location you want to report on. App expects you to be onsite when reporting and as such defaults to your current location. The map can’t switch to satellite view either like google maps can so you have to drag the map around until you can find the correct locationAlso would be handy to have a reports submitted history section so you can check updates or progress on the submission

City of Charles Sturt Council wrong address many issues

The City of Charles Sturt fails to address many of the issues reported via the app including, but not limited to, graffiti on power poles, graffiti on power boxes (those huge metal ones), dumping on vacant lots of land, trashed and graffitied water towers, hoarders, dumped shopping trolleys, etc.By contrast, when you use other apps such as Snap, Send, Solve, the issue reported is directed to the correct government body or other organisation. As such, My Local Services is made redundant for the reporting of many issues when compared to other apps such as Snap, Send, Solve.

It only supports one state in Australia, but it has features that would be in demand globally.I wanted an app which would show me the bin schedule wherever I was, after hearing some stand-up comic saying that it doesn’t exist. Other than it being complex to keep track of this for each country, it really didn’t sound like a complicated app to make.
