NKMP KoalaCounter

Systematic surveys for koalas

Free

The NKMP Koala Counter app has been developed by the National Koala Monitoring Program to enable ecologists to conduct systematic surveys for koalas. Both single-count and double-count transects are supported. Transects can be mapped against satellite imagery, and photos of habitat/animals can be taken while surveying. The app uses your phone/tablet's GPS hardware to track your location while you are conducting a survey. The app will continue to track your location as long as you have an active survey, even if you move the app to the background. Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
