Reigns: Game of Thrones 12+

After playing for a short while I am thoroughly enjoying this new version. As a GOT fan the lore and choices resonate but be warned for spoilers if you aren’t caught up on the series.

The gameplay is a lot deeper than Reigns and Reigns HM. You can select your small council members and either kill off or sack the existing members. Forge alliance with other kingdoms and unlock special abilities ( Ex: Unlocked Drogon with Daenerys giving her the ability to quell an excited mob ) That brings me to what I feel is the most exciting part of this version of Reigns, you can unlock other playable character. There seems to be 9 available through the player select screen, all with different relationships, locations and abilities.

If you’re a fan of Reigns or GOT and considering this game I’d suggest grab it. Great game combined with a great fantasy universe and more depth.

I’ve wanted a good GOT game for a while. I’ve tried all the ones worth mentioning and this is my Fav so far. The mechanics are solid and the story telling and the various possible outcomes are on point.

Because it’s essentially a rouge-like and you’re going to die a lot. The choices you make can actually have live or death implications (or anything in between). So there is actual tension in decisions that you aren’t sure of, especially when you’re on a really good run.

My only complaint is that sometimes my bonus effects didn’t work.

And if I could have the devs add anything, it would be more ways for playing a different character to affect the mechanics (other than the perks.) it affects the story and choices plenty, but I’d like to see something slightly more complex in the 4 pillars thing.

Overall the game is well done and well fleshed out, and certainly has its moments of fun... that’s about all good that can be said however, firstly, the game is barely an improvement from previous ‘Reigns’ games, other then the re-skin of making it GOT, with such a big name to cover the game it needs content to back it up, sub 50 endings with a total of 650ish cards is cheap, due to this the game gets boring fast, certainly when a new character is found, ending unlocked or new situation come across, the game is very fun... for about 5 minutes... every discovery has little impact and soon leads back into the same monotonous, “who would’ve guessed I would get that card, maybe I’ll pick a different option, oh nope it has the same outcome”. The game has some serious potential but the overall sluggish movement of story until you get a couple minutes of enjoyment in the game frankly wouldn’t hold me even if it was free, and it’s not.
