THE PROBLEM:
the current music streaming system is broken - the major platforms pay rights holders only about a third of a cent per stream, they fund unethical ventures, and they're filling their catalogues with AI music trained on real artists' work without consent. musicians want somewhere else to go - somewhere that pays them fairly and supports their community. where listening stays affordable, except your subscription actually reaches the artists you play. second press exists to fill that void.
DISCOVERY:
no algorithm deciding what you hear. finding music here works more like flipping through crates at a record store. hit Surprise Me! to pull a record at random, dig through editorial playlists put together by actual people, or search by genre and see what's there.
