Sun Safe aims to promote safe sun practises by teenagers. This app provides real-time and location-specific data on the UV index (and other weather data); evidence-based information on the UV index, sun exposure harms and benefits, and sun protection; fun quizzes to test the user’s knowledge on sun health; the capacity to set notifications on the UV index; and a timer for sunscreen application. These combined, aim to help the user make informed decisions about their sun health behaviours. Sun Safe was developed with young people and leading researchers in the sun health space, including Telethon Kids Institute and Cancer Council Western Australia, and is funded by Healthway (Government of Western Australia).
