The Coffee Club 4+

I have the App after being told by the guy behind the till that I should get it as I have been in a couple of times. I downloaded it and thought it would be like any other reward card / App and I wouldn’t use it, I was wrong.
The App is good and works but more impressive is the actual reward you get back, 10% genuine return on your purchases and you can use it against new orders - so easy and so good - well done coffee club.

Noosa civic centre is my branch and they are all awesome there.

Until reading this just now I didn’t realise that my rewards would probably expire before I got to use them. I didn’t think this happened to VIP members, who pay by the year. Perhaps my own fault for not being able to read small print easily. Disappointed. I’ve been a VIP member for years and preferred the cards to the app, as I do not always have my phone with me, but I was also disappointed to discover, when renewing my membership recently, that I would be charged an extra $5 for a card. Also, the outlet I visited most often closed last year, so for most of that time the card was not used. Another outlet has now opened not far from the location of the old one and I have visited it regularly. What I once thought was a worthwhile loyalty programme seems to be less so each year. When I had an actual VIP card, printed on it was that I liked a HOT coffee. I always ask for it to be hot, but it rarely is. Gripe over 😀

To be frank, I find the app frustrating to use. It is useful, however, because in the end it monitors your app credit.

The first frustration is due to the fact that when you go to use it, it often displays an advert for some latest Coffee Club deal. You are then left to try and get past that page and muddle your way to the “scan” page.

Second, I don’t have confidence that the app displays your up to date credit. I will go to claim the credit thinking the displayed credit is correct (say $5.80) for a (say $4.50) transaction, to be told that there is insufficient credit. Of course the reverse also happens - display might show (say) $2.50 and I am told I have enough for a $4.50 transaction.
