VELUX ACTIVE with NETATMO is the first smart home automated control of electric roof windows, blinds and shutters.
ROOF WINDOWS CONTROLLED BY SENSOR TECHNOLOGY
Smart sensors measure the temperature, humidity and air quality to automatically open or close your roof windows, blinds and shutters. The solution ensures healthier indoor climate while saving energy.
INDOOR CLIMATE CONTROL
You can remotely monitor and control your home’s indoor climate with key indexes for temperature, humidity and air quality, and receive alerts on your Smartphone when automatic regulation is on-going.
AIR QUALITY DASHBOARD
Track your indoor climate with individual temperature, humidity and Co2 dashboards. Click on the parameter, to see details about your indoor climate right now, within the last 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days.
REMOTE AND VOICE CONTROL
Whenever you want, wherever you are, you can use the App, Apple HomeKit, Siri voice assistant or dedicated smart remotes to open and close your electric VELUX INTEGRA roof windows, blinds and shutters.
AN EASY EXIT
Placed at the front door, the wireless departure remote adds a layer of convenience to leaving the house. Pressing the remote activates a preset departure sequence, closing all the smart roof windows throughout your home and activating the secured ventilation mode. The same departure scene exists in the App.
EASY INSTALLATION
This solution comes pre-programmed and ready to operate, autonomously and dynamically. It is compatible with motorized VELUX INTEGRA roof windows including ones that have already been installed. Even a manual roof window can be compatible by adding a retrofit motor.

Lock Bug
The VELUX ACTIVE system is absolutely amazing. Being able to add our skylight blinds to HomeKit is awesome and everything works very well.
However, this app can be a bit slow at times when accessing certain sections of the app. It has come along way since launch but it still on the slower side. Another interesting quirk with the app is how the lock and unlock feature has a bug whereby it will lock and unlock itself on its own quite regularly. When it does, it sends you back to back notifications about it. Hoping an update can fix this as it can get annoying and misleading.
Great, but could be better
It’s great that I can add my skylights to HomeKit, but seems strange that in HomeKit they cannot be grouped, as they are grouped in the Velux app.
As others have said the app can be a bit slow. The automations only allow for certain parameters. I think it would be great if these could be extended. ie to allow them to be opened and closed on temperature. Currently I do this through HomeKit, but if the skylights close due to the rain sensors the HomeKit status can be wrong.
A fine product
Having come from 6 manual opening pitched roof products to switching to all 6 solar powered opening products and with the app, this system is a no brainer for ease of use and set and forget functionality, should’ve done this 12 years ago when we installed.
The only issue is the app on the iPad does not move to landscape mode when you turn the iPad in that orientation.
