Great app and products
I downloaded this app to control my SmartSolar MPPT 75/10 controller. It was very easy to connect, Info is well laid out and it’s very easy to use. I have two negatives that I’d love to see fixed.
1. history of usage on the trends tab - as soon as the app is shut it’s gone. Being able to look at what’s been happening minute by minute when not connected would be immensely handy for understanding my power consumption.
2. Unless connected to the device you cant see any data about it. Would be great to have the app save the history/trend data locally so it can be viewed when not connected to the device.
Brilliant but requires more work
Some aspects are extremely well thought out. The status page is functional and neat. History is good, little bit different having the graphs time running left to right but x and y axis is up to developers!
My gripe is the trend page and how it and the whole app behaves when the screen closes. If the screen closes for any reason then the app resets, it searches for BT connection and reloads all status data and worse still trend data is lost.
The app should be better able to cope with any interruption, wether it be reading a txt message checking an email or the screen turning off.
Also if I do lose the BT connection and try to open the app to look at the last available data the whole system reverts to looking for BT connection. I understand we lost connection but why can’t the app then display the last status data?

Terrible initial experience
My iPhone 8 with latest iOS could not find the blue smart charger despite following the trouble shooting advice (see below) Switched to Mac OS app it found it but the required update failed leaving the blue smart charger with no firmware Finally went to an iPad which found it and updated correctly and the iPad app works Returned to the Mac app which also works Returned to phone app which still cannot find the blue smart How are people who just have a phone meant to cope with this fiasco
4 weeks later … discovered that the iphone app couldn’t find the device due to iPhone privacy controls - need to enable in privacy Bluetooth victron need to add this to the trouble shooting guide
If the on boarding had been better managed the app would get more stars
