The best solution for now

It really is the best mac anti virus solution for now (and please don’t believe macs are immune to malware).. as it’s the only one that has true backround scanning, whilst being able to be completely disabled. As in, not startup with your machine, not scan in backround, nothing. This is the key selling point for me, as i can launch it only when i am on the net. There is a caveat and why i am docking one star. That is, that you have to deal with promtps and jump throug hoops for every disable. Not only do you have to turn continous scan off but then you need to go into preferences of the app itself and disable the start at login feature. They simply should make and easy way to launch it and proviode backround scanning without having to enable auto login and then being able to exit it which turns it all off. That would be ideal. The other star is docked for the abysmal start up time it adds to my macbook 750gb 7200rm drive. SSD users would likely not be affeted. Edit: I am rasing it to 4 stars because once the computer HAS booted and this antivirus loaded, it actually has very little impact on system speed or cpu use. It’s just the initial startup that is (painfully) slow. They can improve it and make it perfect, they really can, and that’s what i am hoping for. As a musician i can not have an anti virus running when i need optimal performance. In fact i also disable all net connections when I am doing complex projects that require much cpu. But if i need to go on the net i want to be able to have protection.
