Vivaldi - The best and most innovative
Opera used to be my go to browser. Vivaldi is even better - it’s innovative, the download manager is the best ever, fast, reliable and I’ve never lost anything or experienced corruption of downloaded files. At work I’m stuck with Chrome but Vivaldi would be so much better if they’d only let me install it. Not buggy and downloading upgrades is super fast. Innovative new things are always useful and make Vivaldi even better with every version.
Innovative but...
For some years I hung out for an iOS version of Vivaldi on macOS. When it happened I was very happy. I could Finally use Vivaldi on both my laptop and iPhone. This meant I could finally make Vivaldi my default on macOS but; I use 120% zoom on iPhone forum webpages. This works perfectly for my purposes but unlike several other well known iOS browsers forum reply/comment boxes do not enlarge their text font inline with page zoom in settings. So, the type content on the web page is perfectly legible but the reply box is 9 point by default no matter what the zoom %
Yes, you can increase the font size, you have to do this every time. Given I write 10 to 20 forum replies complete with screen shots every day that is simply unacceptable. Other iOS browsers can do it, why not Vivaldi? Or is it only geared towards the 18-35 age range with 20-20 perfect vision on Pro Max editions of the iPhone 16.
