From the smooth ride to the amazing technology. The Volvo is everything you’d hope in a new car. Once your given the run through of the tech, and if you don’t get it the Volvo team make sure there available to help. My car was delivered earlier than expected. Even though the xc40 doesn’t come with leather we just asked for an after market to put it in. Thinking this was smaller than my merc gla, and the Volvo is on paper but it seems bigger some how. The navigation is so easy to use and see. The display is adjustable for the no fuss to, you want everything on display. Perfect height to get in and out of. And if you have trouble seeing and getting into car parks you won’t with the xc40

I have a 2022 XC60 Recharge. I was expecting the app to contain more features from the screen shots available on the store. When I took delivery of my car and paired it, I discovered that the Australian version of the app appears to be quite watered down with minimal features available for door locking/unlocking, charge status including time remaining only & ability to turn climate on/off only, you cannot adjust temperature controls remotely. Not only this, the app is extremely slow to contact to the vehicle adding more to the poor experience. I hope future updates are coming to enable further functionality of the app as I am sure I infrastructure is place inside the vehicle to enable a substantial amount more functionality. It would be great to see location data of the car, enhanced lock/unlock functionality (e.g car key functionality via the phone so the vehicle can be started using your phone only), open/ close windows, check window open status, ability to fully manage climate control, start and stop charging and schedule charging. There is a lot of unharnessed potential….

After a week driving around I can’t fault it. It’s next level compared to our former Hyundai Tucson Highlander AWD 2L diesel, which also had many safety features. The standouts for the Volvo are the sound system, the self driving feature in cruise control (while you still have your hands on the wheel), comfort and acceleration. The safety features are also exceptional. When backing out of our carport our car ran past behind the car and it automatically stopped. I thought I’d hit something but the car was just demonstrating how it can prevent you hitting any living creature.

Glitchy app will leave you locked out of your car

The volvo cars app is available for apple watch but be warned it is constantly glitching out despite the latest updates for my iphone, watch and app. Even followed apples recommendation to reset the watch after the app was confirmed as updated. Basically if you have your keys and phone in the car so safe by locking the car with the watch app and go for a ride or swim; you will reliably be locked out when you get back. With 'network failed (400)' or 'unknown error' or the like. So unless you can navigate to your volvo cars password and email via the watch you are stuffed. Likely left cold and hungry until your wife, girl friend, husband can drive a spare set of keys too you! A shame as most other aspects are good.App store app support button does not work , like the app lol.
