Thanks devs, I mostly enjoy Waze. A couple of things though - I assume police are using disinformation and censorship to mess up the crowd sourced data. Hidden speed cameras in high volume locations are not appearing as reported despite plenty of Wazers around. Reports I have made seem to disappear shortly after, and frequently there are false reports of these cameras where there are none. Maybe making an algo to weed out untrustworthy accounts that disagree with data from long standing legitimate accounts could work? The road safety strategy where I live seems to be built on complete distrust and lack of good faith. Could there be an app for that?Also the car icon is too big, the method to put Waze to sleep used to be more accessible than it is now, night mode should consider local sunset times, there should be a few more specific types of police reports like incident, handheld speed detection, mobile phone camera, etc.Keep up the good work!

I have loved this app for quite a while and don’t mind the occasional quirk. Let me start with some positives. It’s not afraid of residential streets. It has great GPS when it can connect including speed with alerts, and speed detector/red light camera warnings, along with community warnings of potential hazards from pot holes to police. One thing that has happened a few times is instead of turning right at an intersection it takes you left to do a u-turn to get back on the road you were going. In the past several days it has taken that little quirk to a whole new level, taking me km’s (miles) out of my way to go simple routes, even just basically forward, often doubling, yes doubling! my trip time. My 18 min trip this morning took 45!! I’d like to list all the incomprehensible routes it has done to me over the past 9 days (that’s when it started acting up like this) but I probably won’t have enough characters in this review. I HAVE loved this app for quite a while, but the depression I am experiencing being very late to work the past 7 days isn’t worth it and driving me back to google maps. I’m being moderate with my rating as although I am highly unlikely to continue using it, it does have some very good features not available in google or apple maps.
Undo recent changes to Alternate routes feature

Todays update broke night mode when using CarPlay. Night mode doesn’t kick in unless you open the app on the phone.Other recent changes to alternate routes feature has made it less accessible using CarPlay and is now as safety risk when driving. Alternate route icon has been moved away from the top centre of the screen and is now on the far side of the screen away from the driver. Requires you to over extend your arm and spend more time trying to focus on which button to press. Prior or was on its own and difficult to press the incorrect button. On top of this the Alternate route results have changed. Now it’s just shows the route overview essentially repeating exactly what you see on the main nav screen away (arrival time, mins and distance remaining and you have to click the word Routes to then see the suggested Alternate routes. It requires extra screen presses and takes much more concentration trying to click the right thing with less time focusing on the road. Why break something that was perfect? I use this feature half a dozen times per trip to get around bad traffic that has not yet been reported/detected by Waze.
Saving time & avoiding traffic is even simpler with this update:
Fixed a bug so alerts about upcoming railroad crossing are displayed correctly.
